Hi, I'm new here. My family of origin has all died, and I live alone with my cat. I grew up with 4 adult alcoholics. Alcohol and drugs in my youth, I never quite made it to my own journey until 2010. When my true recovery started, was learning my son had been molested, a 2.5 year court process, and then 11days in hospital for severe depression and starting on Lamictal, today I'm 63. I've been a single Mom since conception, have a son 20 with aspergers who move out due to abuse a year ago. If that's not enough...lol.. I'm dx'd with bp, add, anxiety, heart and kidney disease. It's been a road. So I've been to alanon, been in theray since I was 17 with depression, and still don't know how to take care of myself, too busy with my head in other places, and few boundaries. In reading symptoms of Coda, I go from A-Z...I've read some of the posts and feel I've found a place to plop and learn...the first venture out will be to u-tube and watching Lisa Romano. I would like to find a male companion, a healthy relationship, haven't been in one for 16yrs. I'd like to have a better relationship with my son, and my friends...I'd like to like myself enough to create boundaries, not isolate, and find trust in myself and others. Hope I'm not asking for too much! ML

I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

It's been some time since my last post...sorry. I've been going through a challenging time with the sale of my home, purchase of a condo and my adult asperger son that lives with me. I've had days where I couldn't get out of bed, days where I stayed in my pj's and days where all I managed to do was eat, drink fluids and take care of my Sweet Mia kitty. Sweet Mia came to me from a shelter about...
