I went to my pm doc last week, she said that she had to "defend" me to my insurance company! I said like what, she said they want to know why I give you oxycodone and the dose I do, she said I went down the list of all the non-narcotic meds we've tried, she said iam a pain clinic, I do random urine screens and this pt is always compliant., she said ,I give my pts what works to make them be able to function.
Also, she said she had a pt that was dying of cancer that she did a tox screen on, that came up negative for oxycontin, so this pt was selling her meds, so people like that make US look like criminals!
This makes me so mad, so if I ever need an increase( I dont expect to be on the same dose forever, I know you body gets used to it)I wont get it, becuase of my health ins? I pay cash to see this pm clinic, but I suppose they dont like that they have to pay for a big portion of my meds?
Anyone else have any insurance/ med issues?

I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

Try to take things as they come. The doc stood up for you. That is good!

The bill is$160,000! For a 2 day hospital stay, 2 surgeries (which I shouldn't be charged for the 2nd because a wire slipped and my surgeon had to go back in to secure it better). I went in as an out-pt because insurance won't pay for it as an in-pt and my surgeon had to justify why he admitted me.
Insurance has way too much power over health care. Part of Obamacare is to try to stop insurance companies from running rampant over healthcare providers. I hope it does.Medical decisions shouldn't be being made by some insurance co.bean counter.
