I left the north after being snowed in on a farm for 10 days with no electric, and all water pipes were frozen.

Melting snow for water, and fighting Coyotes for firewood was not my dream job. LOL

I'm ready for it. My area (NJ) is forecasted for 12-18 inches. I really thought we would go the whole season without any snow, so this one really surprised me. It's going to start around 6 pm on Friday and go until Sunday morning. I haven't seen any salt trucks out yet. That will be once the first flakes start to fall.
I have wine. If I have to be snowed in, I have to have wine, but I guess we'll see as long as this storm doesn't do a number with my migraines. The only thing I don't want is to lose power.

The weather forecast here is for a trace of snow to 3 feet! I think I'd like to see some snow. It's not natural to be in upstate New York and have seen less than an inch through late January. Now I'm in my new apartment all I have to do is move the car so the parking lot is plowed, instead of shoveling.

I loved it when the kids were young and I could still walk pretty well, but not these days, it amazes me over and over again every winter how the cold can just seep into your bones, and it's so hard to get them warm.

I did get my snow food, lol, 1 lb. of Imperial Earl Grey tea, 3 cans of Meyer Lemon Moravian Cookies, 6 4-packs of greek yogurt, 1/2&1/2, TP, cantelope, lemons, milk, bread and cheese. And a few cases of water.

I always get sucked in by the beauty outside, because I live on a horse ranch, so the views over the hills and pastures when their covered in snow with the sharp black split rail fencing can be breathtaking.....so I end up being stupid and going out to walk and take pictures...and I pay for it later.

RJ I envy you down there in the warmth!

OCPer, isn't that odd how we can have the heaters on to a warm temp in the house but the cold still goes right into our bones? I hope that damned storm gets downgraded in your area but fat chance, eh? I totally get what you mean about the bones though.

my tootsies are chilled....I do not want to wear shoes in house and have socks on but I do not own a pair of slippers....ugggh

and bone chilling is no fun...went out this morning and my butt is still freezing as I sit in this couch recliner....what the thing needs is a heated seat....it is Pleather with electric recliner and even has a blue tooth with speakers built in but does it have a butt warmer? NO!!! Damn I got the best money could buy with NO BUTT WARMER!!!

Me too Bill. If I want a butt warmer, I have to go out to my car, lol.

Bill put a heating pad in your chair and sit on it...it'll warm your tush.

Its been a weird day with snow, sleet, snow needles, thunder snow complete with lightening (that part was kinda cool) too much ice and snow in too many variations and way too cold....we have about 12 more hours and this storm should be off in the Atlantic and I will be very happy. Luckily there was limited freezing rain, so no power outages.

Gr8tfl2b that term "bonechilling" definitely means what it sounds...and there's not really any medication that deals with that, except Spring.

I'm warm in my house, my poor oldest son is on maneuvers at Fort Bragg this weekend, out in the woods, in a tent....not where I'd want to be in this weather.

We got about 7 inches of snow here in Nashville today .. We haven't had this much snow since 2003! I love it.. but I'm sitting in my warm house looking out the window admiring it.. lol

It's not going to warm up until Monday to melt it.. that's okay with me.. I'll just keep admiring it out the window.

It's 1:20. Not a flake. The electricity went out a couple of days ago, so I have the heat crancked up in case of a repeat. B

well, the storm came and brought alone a migraine for me. How sweet of it to do that. I woke up at 3 am with it, and it's now 5 am and still can't get over it. Definitely the weather. But if there is any way that I can sit out side for a bit today, the cold will numb my head, and I should be pretty good.

Shoveling used to improve my migraines. Sorry for yours, Yvette. I know them well. I have a coming snowstorm sinus headache. Not nearly as bad.

Still not a flake, but a few inches are supposed to come. But you never know.

thundersnow is narly.....LOL I love fresh snow but ice take out of my world except in my soda....LOL

I've been watching news reports about this and can't wrap my head around how cold it must be for you all! They said thousands have no power so we've been wondering how you survive when that happens and where do all the homeless people go at times like this?? It's a beautiful cool morning down here today but its been around 100 degrees on and off for a few weeks so I've been fantasizing about rolling around in the snow lol.

I hope you all stay warm and safe until this passes and really hope your pain levels don't become unbearable. Take care everyone!
