Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
It was my OPINION, this is a "Board" people give their opinions. I didn't attack anyone, didn't say anyone elses opinion was wrong, I just gave mine. It's allowed.

I don't watch TV or listen to news or talk to people who refuse to respect my history and the things that will cause flashbacks.
But I come here and have to learn about them. Guess I will have to quit coming here also.
I broke down at the store, thinking these same toys from these same shelves could be wrapped & ready... Just like the gift my dad never got bc he was tragically killed just days before his birthday. PTSD triggers everywhere...
People are numb or angry - going through the motions. It's almost palpable the grief - though it pales in comparison to the immediate families of the victims.
I truly understand the need for self-care that might motivate turning off the Tv. But please don't forget us here. We cannot turn it all off. Please take the time to show support. There is a facebook page. There is an online site for lighting a virtual candle. There are fundraising programs.
I'm struggling to find my own balance, support my kids, be there for my friends, listen to my h who works retail and hears so many stories from customers affected. So please forgive me for not posting links. But they can be found via search engines and at CT news site links.
I know I've been MIA - debilitating migraines since Hurricane Sandy and other issues - so some of you might not remember me. But I'm a CPr like you and boy this hurts - body soul and mind. Your support means a lot. Thanks.

Saying sorry you have to endure so much pain, anger, fear sounds trite, I know, but I truly am. To have so much loss in one community, so many children is unfathomable....you and your town will constantly be in my thoughts and prayers.
I hope that you find healthy ways to cope with your grief.

Many local stations have set up links to send cards or condolences, I've not heard of a monetary support site yet. You can google the incident and support and probably find a site if there is one. You might also ask your bank if a donation account has been set up.

Otherwise it will happen again.
How many times must it happen for laws to finally be changed?
How is it that an ordinary citizen can buy automatic weapons?
I don't know what the solution is, but some action must be taken.
I have been hearing how the violent video games change the brain and cause people to become more aggressive.
I think this would be a good place to start. No child needs a constant stream of violence in his or her life.
No one who has heard of this tragedy ..especially those with children and grandchildren..
Is forgetting the victims, their families..or your community.
I don't have the words for my sorrow for all.

For some of us who have actually live thru such incidents before the WWW made them instant news, this causes serious flashbacks. How does that help anyone else's pain?
It is so easy to judge others for not wanting to be in more pain.
Thanks for helping. (((hugs)))
Please know that the world will never forget your town. I'm so sorry for your losses. I hope your town finds peace and can move on from this. I live in a small town too, and it seems almost unimaginable that something like that could happen here. But we all know it could........

(healing hugs and prayers for you and Newtown and the families)
