Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I have a mandatory work source workshop today. We leave in an hour to get there. Hubby keeps telling me I got this. I am trying to fake it until I make it.
I am not quite recovered from the weekend. Now I get to be in a car for an hour drive to get there - which will put me in agony. Then I get to be in a room full of people I don't know, who don't know proper Service Dog etiquette, and try not to let my PTSD kick in while I sit through a three hour workshop.
I am already so stressed that my back is spamisming. to the point that my chest is in agony. If it didn't happen all the time, I would say I was having a heart attack - but I have gone through this chest pain hundreds of times now.
I know that I am not able to join the work force. My work source counselor knows I can't. But I have to keep pretending for my VA counselor. I need the money so I will go.
Sigh. Today is going to suck.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Sending you good thoughts and prayers.
Too bad someone can't atleast drive you though
Wishing you lots of strength and a good pain day..
I was lucky that not one person tried to be friendly with my dog, though she did get lots of smiles. About half way through, my husband started to shift in his seat a bit - it was way too hot in that little room. Misha was immediately up and checking on him. She knows that my first sign of pain is that I can't sit still.
I just took extra hydrocodone until my hands stopped shaking. I just hate using half a day's worth of pain killers to look normal for three hours. Once my hands stopped shaking, Misha took up her 'chillled' position of upside down batting me with her front paws. Yes, that really is a cute as it sounds!!
As soon as we got home, I checked the mail, and low and behold there was my hydrocodone - in the mailbox!!! I have to go into the post office for my thyroid medication, but they will leave several hundred tabs of hydrocodone in the mailbox!
Sigh. I laid down and was OUT for almost four hours. I am still tired, but I hurt too much to sleep any more.
Talking with my counselor for a few minutes after the workshop, I have five more workshops to go to in the next six weeks - so at least one a week. At least hubby is getting a lot out of this and it might help him get employed again! So it is worth it.
Hugs to all,
The next two days will be much calmer

Glad to hear the workshop went ok...does Misha wear one of those vests that say service dog and not to pet?
Misha wears a BRIGHT red cap that has SERVICE DOG in several places. I gave up long ago with the do not touch. No one stops long enough to read the patches.
I want to make/get her one that is in pink camo!! I will change my icon back to a pic of her I took on Sat.
hehehehe

Glad you survived the workshop! Misha sounds like a wonderful dog. What breed of dog is she? (Trying to get a mental picture.)
Hope you can get some good rest during the remainder of the week.
Yadlim and my Misha - oh, google Great Pyrenees and you will see what she look like! Big white fuzzy!!!
My cat is pretty intuitive. I have bad arthritis in both of my feet and knees, lower back and in my left hip. I am trying to plan hip replacement surgery here in the next few months. Right now I'm on disability for that conditions and several more.
My girl is about six and a tortie named Charlize. She was found abandoned with nine kittens in a drainage ditch in a gated community and all were rescued. I adopted her from my vet.
Anyway, she always seems to know when I'm feeling bad. She likes to sit in my lap and seems to nestle in on my left hip. Like a purring heating pad!
Hope everybody is having a good day!
