I know i brought this up once before, hubby is mad that i leave our bed in the am, when i cant sleep, why is it such a big deal? Iam in so much pain and get up to take meds and sleep the last few hrs in the spare room, he just doesnt get it! I told him that lots of chronic pain people dont stay in one place all night, its true right?

I've taken to moving at night as well. I toss and turn so much that I wake up my partner, and she doesn't get the sleep she needs. My shoulders go numb, my back hurts...everything.

I have moved to my son's bed (stinker sneaks in with his brother) and I've spent a few nights on the sofa. I know she prefers me to be in bed (says she can't sleep properly without me) but I know I ruin her sleep if its bad. She's really understanding though.

Nice to know I"m not the only one.

oh and i can relate to "laramarie", my spouse also denys snoring! i got him some "breathright" stips and he acts like its such a big deal to wear them!
I always start out w him in bed, just leave, when i need meds and have to pee, which is between 2-4a.
I could let him read these posts, but not all of our stuff!

yes it is definetly true... he cant grasp that idea because he isnt the one in the pain, you are. I went thru the same thing with my husband, i slept on the couch it was more comfortable with me i didnt move around so much etc. he didnt get it until HE got hurt at work and figured out that it was more comfortable on the couch etc. He was in pain but he also new that he wasnt in as much pain as i was, now he understands. He doesnt like it but he understands. Maybe your husband thinks that he is the reason your leaving the bed. Try to reassure him that it has nothing to do with him. Hopefully he will see the light...if not...hit him in the head with a frying pan lol...see made ya smile :)

i usually wait until I am about to pass out to go to sleep, so when I do go to sleep i am not up for most of the night tossing and turning. I also like to put my blankets in the dryer, because that is always relaxing to me. I hav ehad problems with sleep for years and now sleep on the couch, so that I can just pass out.

No, I don't sleep in one place. I start out in bed, and end up in the recliner. I get up take my pain meds, and then I sit in the recliner waiting for them to kick in and I fall asleep in the recliner.

I get up at least fifty times a night, walk around the house, go watch tv, clean, read and all sorts of stuff. I do not feel that I could stay in bed all night when my pain is bad, it is impossible to stay in one position.

I am happy to sleep whenever or where ever...
