Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I pushed a bit today, to get things done that needed doing. I got the dog play yard fixed, and moved 4 bins full of chainmail as well as one of my display boxes from the cargo trailer to the house... The trailer is leaking and needs to be emptied and tarped for the winter.
I was feeling ok afterwards - it did take me three hours to do the above, in five and ten minute increments. I was just physically very tired. With no reason not to, I went in and took a nap for a couple hours.
I woke up with the plan of taking a shower before wandering back out into the living room... I stretched on the way into the bathroom and pain exploded in my spine at the point of the crushed vertibrea. I skipped my shower.
My back has not hurt that much in that small of an area in over a year. The pain has not repeated in a sharp fashion, just gone to its normal stabbing throb that fills my chest and constricts my breathing.
Five hours later, 15mg of hydrocodone, 300mg of gabapentine, 3 Aleve, 500mg of Tylenol and a hot cup of tea later and I still hurt to much to bother going to bed. I just took my night dose of another 600mg of gabapentine in hopes it will help. Every intake of breath hurts. I am scared.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Are you worried about your nerves being pinched causing problems with your ability to breathe? I hope you feel better today. I'm throwing up a payer for you before I go back to bed. Hugs!

What scared me was the burst of pain at the crush point - my T6 was the original crushed vertibae. The original injury crushed 30% (70% left)of my T6 9 1/2 years ago. Since then it has continued to degrade down to just under 30% of the T6 left and just over 50% of my T5. So Throsic - one would think I could spell these words that I use all the time, but no.
I do my best to keep the muscle in my spine from atrophying away. It involves a lot of core muscle work. And yes, the nerves at the T6 control my diaphragm, so when when back acts up, I can't breath. I have honestly gone years in between full deep breaths. It is why I am so TERRIFIED of falling. If I do enough damage, that is it, I am dead before someone can call 911.
And one would think that hubby or daughter would help me with this stuff... but it does not happen. Hubby is sick once again from the mold in the house and does not want to face that the faster we can get packed, the faster we can get out of this house and away from the mold. Daughter helps, but not enough. It takes more of my energy sometimes to get her moving then to just do it myself.
Sorry, I am ranting today. I hurt and I am tired. I spent five hours yesterday waiting for hay to be delivered and when it was, all help but my daughter disappeared. Hubby did not come with us as he is allergic to hay and to the barn cats and there are FOUR teenagers who live at the place who watches my horses. Not one of them helped stack hay. So my options were to let my daughter, who is also allergic to hay, stack a ton of hay, or move the bales a bit myself so it was easier for her to stack. And guess what? Yeah, I did too much. But then again, just being out at the horses, watching my horse drag his lead line around while mowing the lawn was too much.
I am grumpy, I hurt, and I don't want to play this game anymore.

Take it easy or you will hurt yourself.

Today she is running out the door to go to an interview. When she gets back she and hubby will go grocery shopping.
With my vehicle in the shop, we only have hers to use... and that sucks.
Most of the time I get help, just sometimes I don't, and then I tend to over do.
