Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

remember Lurch? (Adams Family) I can feel the way he looks tee hee
I am feeling frustrated. Now that my left hip has been replaced and is doing much better, I'm noticing how bad both knees are. I am struggling through the PT. I'm also having swelling in my right ankle.
My OS prescribed meloxicam (which does little or nothing.) I go back to see him in January. I guess we'll address the knees then.
Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!
I joined mainly because of back pain that over the years evolved into chronic pain in joints and muscles all over, and I learned what you all already know: not much effective help is available for us.
So rather than just get angry I decided to reach out and rant a bit and try some experimentation with alternatives on myself, maybe I could help someone by doing a bit of careful research, self-experimentation, and reporting the results.
So I've been trying PEMF and although at first it was disappointing, I did eventually have very good results. I posted details in the back pain group. But it clearly could help with other forms of chronic pain, so I was looking around here to see if anyone else had tried PEMF. My experiments are ongoing, life is getting better, hope has returned for me so I want to share.
I'm late, but here! Hey all!
Peace
Michael
I'm here for the first time in a long time. I just haven't been feeling well and surfing the net has been last on my list of things to do. I'll try to be around a bit more to contribute a little though. Good to see so many replies to the roll call though, lots of folks are still here and that's a good thing.
Talk to you all later on.
Sorry I'm not on the site every day, but I'm so into the outdoors. I did a wonderful snow shoe hike in the mountains yesterday. Just so beautiful! I only did about 4 miles, but with this broken body, it took most of the day. That's OK...I'm just glad I can do it at all! I give all the thanks to my pain management doctor. The man is a blessing. He gave me back my life!
