Hello to all my friends out there in pain Ville, well I did it on the recommendation from a lot of my friends out there I saw my new pain doc and he is great, he is up on all the new conversations regarding what causes or may be a factor i n my leg pain not only diabetic neuropathy but from treatment from Intron A in 92. When I mentioned it to my old pain doc of almost 2 years he looked at me like I was crazy, and he doesn't know a thing about suboxone so finally I think I found a real doc, wow after almost 3 years. Well I am waiting for my health insurance to ok the suboxone, hope its covered, or this is all for nothing and I am running out of pain meds. So if anyone has anything bad to say about suboxone now's the time. Thanks to all of you who gave me input on this challenging few weeks, and to the one you know who you are well who cares, I haven't lost any sleep over it. Ha ha wish me luck its gonna be a fun couple of weeks over at hell house, but it will be well worth it if suboxone will help and I even got a cost of living increase on my social security check, thanks all keep you all posted EVERY

Good luck, Mark, for your insurance to approve it and that it works well for you. I got the same letter from SS with an increase for next year!

Thanks Theresa, I sit and wait. 6 days maybe of pain meds left hope for an answer today. One good thing I think I found a really good pain doc,yea everybody on social security disability will get the increase, wish it started this month for the holidays but its all good. hi.....i have been on it twice in my life....its ok to a point.i was on the 8 mgs 3 a day...it has a cap,if you take more,than 3 8 mgs it does nothing wich is good....i cant say it continued to work but i tried it because i wanted off narcotics.due to family busting my you know what bout taking them...

give it a try..it may work good for you.it just wasnt enough for me but everyones different.if you want anymore first hand info from me,send me a message

thanks Amy I am going to try suboxone because I am tired of the narcotics, they say it is easier on the body and makes it possible to live a better life, I am going to detox for the 2nd time in almost 3 years, I am tired of the macro merry go round, and its not merry ha ha, my pain is pretty severe and it feels like it is spreading to my hands. Gotta try something, I don't want to live with a pain pump doesn't go with the beach wear down here in Florida ha ha ugh. I tried the spinal cord stimulator and the insertion of the wire was sooo painful I am afraid to let any doctor put any more hole in my body. I am optimistic but truely doubt in the long run it will work. But so many people say great things about it so why not. Anyway I hope you are having a good day today so feel good and thanks for the input Mark

sitting around today thinking. Its the holiday season and my old pain doc picked a great time to force me into detox, even though I was going to do it anyway, but he ruined my thanksgiving and the rest of the season what a ass. Just have to sound off I am so pissed off but at least I am finally rid of him, it was funny yesterday when his office called me to tell me o owed a $40 co pay from a previous office visit, he is gonna wait a long time for that especially since he was suppose to waive that one. Oh well I'm going to play modern warfare 3 and shoot a lot of bad guys, I like it because they all look like my pain doc ha ha ha later all

Try to stay positive. Let's hope that switching to the suboxone will prevent a bad detox experience. I don't mean to sound ignorant here but what exactly is suboxone? I've heard alot about it on post here. But I guess I never asked what it is? I could google it but I'd rather find out here.

Mark I hope it helps you. And enjoy your game. I think you have a million $$ game idea. How cool would that be destroy the damn doctor game, haha.

Hello tendonshurt subozone as I am told blocks opiods in the body and gives relief at the same time, how much relief I don't know. I am optimistic but I have a feeling I am in for a rough ride. Last time I detoxed I did it buy myself and a bottle of valium ugh. It is primarily dispensed as a detox drug but like methadone it has pain relieving properties. I have a feeling when it comes to insurance it will only be covered for detox and not long term use. My problem is my health insurance is being switched to another provider on January 1st, and I do not have info yet to check coverage. I hope to have the info soon but am relying on my wife to get that info because she is the primary. She is not very reliable. So I am kinda taking this day to day right now, kinda scary with few days left on my pain meds and just starting with a new pain doc, and insurance and the holidays, phew I have my old pain doc to thank for all this at the worse time of the year to get things done. As always I seem to be at the mercy of others like a puppet on a string. Story of my life. Gotta go I'm real tired, time for my 4 am nap. Feel good Mark

You do what is right for you as you know everyone may have a bad experience with something once in awhile. So I would just go with your gut and let me know if you need anything as you know I take suboxone for pain and I like it and it works great for me but someone it may not have it is sort of a individual thing.

My new insurance at the beginning of the year covers it but for the last six months it has not been covered and I pay about 7 bucks a pill well worth it in my opinion but my hubby has one of the health club savings account so the sting is not so bad.

You have to wait 24 hours since you last pain med to take suboxone and you have to be in withdrawal it is called the induction part of the med and I will talk you through it if you want, but once you wait and it will suck once you take the suboxone the withdrawal will go away immediately and you will actually feel really good.

I take one pill a day 8mg anything more and it makes me sick and you may not even need that much everyone is different but most people do fine with one. My doctor started me off on one and half but after one I was ok. I was on some strong pain meds and this gave me more pain relief and a big shot of energy so watch out LOL you may remodel your house. I cleaned for three days till my back went out so you have to pace yourself the energy will slowly go away to the normal amount.

I was never sick of pain meds I just had to many side effects so that was my deal. I was on Fentayl patches and morphine high dosages and I was a zombie and could not go to the bathroom nor did I want to wake up so some pretty serious side effects.

Hi Manny yes the doc went thru it all with me, I am on dilauded 8mg 6 to 8 a day its killing me, and its not even helping much anymore, so that's why I am doing this. So you say really its just the first 24 hours that are bad really, he did not say it would be that easy. Thanks

Yes you have to wait till 24 hours since your last pain med so really the last 12 hours will suck and I felt everyone one of those 12 hours but once you take it 20 minutes later nothing and after withdrawal it feels good.

Now my doctor would not prescribe me the suboxone till I Was in withdrawal and going to store to get was the hard part I want to scream hurry up with that. Do not take early or you will go into the worst withdrawal you ever had that is important.

then I am lucky still taking my pain while I wait for the insurance co to aprove then I will go the 24 hours and start the suboxone I have united health but will start avmed January 1st . My doc told me $8 per pill if insurance does not cover it. And with my disability check combined with my wifes job we are just making it, so if insurance does not cover it, or allow as a continuing treatment I am in trouble, there is no way I will be able to afford it. So it will be back on the narcotics and detoxing every year like I have been doing.. I should hear something today, or I will have to call them. Thanks again for the info feel good Mark

glad to be your friend here,i just have to let you know that YES you will need to be in the early stage of detox before first oill but YES you will feel awesome after that first sub,,,,all your pain and w-d's will be gone,sometimes i wish it would have continued working for me!!!!!!!

i will be hoping your insurance approves it!!!!!!....mine did and for 3 a day of 8 mgs....thats the highest amount ever prescribed...for any that dont know,its an opiod antagonist...so it has some opiod in it but also if you take another narcotic with it,it will not let it do anything.it is approved for long term pain relief by ins company,if doc says thats what its for...

Mark,i know its a bad time of year to go thru this but while you wait on ins to approve,cut back on what you take now..let us know tho if you hear anything bout ins today!!!!!!!
