Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

It totally stinks and I hope it calms down for you. Would a call into the doc help? Maybe he can make a suggestion? Just lay it out just like you did here..."I don't want to come in but I'm stuck at a 5...is there anything that I should try to help?" etc etc. Makes it sound exactly like what you want...a solution; not necessarily medication. Then, in 3 months, talk frankly about your pain being stuck...are you keeping a pain diary? If not, I would consider doing so...your doc might be able to get a better idea of what is going on or what may help when he sees you next if he can visually see where you've been stuck.
I know this didn't help very much but I really hope you do feel better.
Pain-relieving (((HUGS))) coming your way!

Thanks Red your post makese so much sense. My wife asked me what I was going to do? I said suffer. I dont have a Dr. per se it is a Pian Clininc. And i know well enough not to go back and keep asking fo changes. they don't like that. Even though it's true. It is somewhat tolerable, just frustrating.
Yes Tigg, Watson bought Actavis. They no longer make the Watson product. The Actavis product is bery inferior and is making people sick. There have been hundreds of complaints. So it did change. I called Acatvis to complain and they have tried to call me back about 5 times. They seem concerned about something. Lawsuits perhaps?Perhaps a bad lot. May be a recall. Some people have apparently been hospitalized. I myself was very sick for three weeks on Actavis and considered it a threat to my life and well being. So for now Im stuck at a five.

Thanks Bill I did try that. I added Tylenol 500mg to the Oxycodone but it made little difference. but It was generic acetimentophin (sp) so I may try real Tylenol. I know someone had suggested that before. Maybe with the binding agents in Percocet they work better. I'll keep trying. I didnt realize that Roxicet was weaker than Percocet. 10mg. Otherwise I would have asked for 15 but I guess they are hard to find. I just find that 5 pain level to be so dishearteneing. At least if you get dwon to a 2 even if only for 2 hours and you're doped up you feel that bit of "normal" again.
Only been on Oxycodone for 6 days so maybe it gets better? But the Percocet was immediate relief from Day one. Thanks to all for listening.
What dosage was your Percocet and what dosage (mgs) is your Oxycodone.
Oxycodone in its pure form is a short acting med and it works very quickly.
Try thinking positive. This will work. Get some Tylenol and take it religiously with your rx. Keep busy so you don't think about this too much.
Your getting the absolute real version of the drug that is used to make real Percocet, the only difference is it doesn't have the APAP mixed with it. There's is no generic component here, you can't get a generic version of Oxycodone.
It sounds like you've psyched yourself out worrying about the Percocet changes and which worked or didn't and it's not hard to do, when meds get changed we worry that the pain will get worse or the meds won't work as well....but to realistically say that this doesn't work or doesn't because of some missing Tylenol....That would be like "Guinness World Records" weird.
And since oxycodone is a slow release med it may take a while for it to saturate your system. Give it some time.
Oxycodone is an instant release med with an average half life of roughly 4 hours.
I do know the difference between the two as I am on boith. Maybe too much of the same thing? I'm certainly not compaining about getting the pure from, I know that is good. Just been in pain thats all.
At my clinic, you get what they give you. Its not like you go to your doctor and they give you what you want.
I will say my partner has been beating me quite often in the last 7 days, might that be affecting this druug;s performance? Like the other thread stress affects our pain.
Yes I di mention this previously to the nurse and doctor and they said "How bout that global warming we're having:" so I wont be bringing that up again.
So you just nver know what somebody is going thru right?. I did call my DV case worker the other day and she called me back but I missed her call. Maybe she can help me. Thanks.
if you use a heating pad(I live on one) use moist heat regular heating pads might feel good but they dont penetrate,
with your doc I think red gave you the best advice call for advice not upping the meds.good luck prayers
Have you called the police and had your "partner" removed for domestic violence? Yes if your being beaten on a routine basis I would imagine that would lend a huge hand of pain to things, not to mention the extra stress and anxiety. Getting this dangerous activity taking care of would probably help you very much. Please remember that your a person in your own right, you deserve to be safe in your home, you deserve to be able to live your life without fear of abuse from anyone. Please consider you safety and take the steps needed to get this abusive person away from you, so you can be safe.
Take care,
Kat
