Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I think my PCP thought the pain clinic might investigate further and find something she'd missed. She has no experience dealing with this clinic, so I doubt she'll be impressed when I tell her about my experience. Since she did the referral, that's probably why the NP is going to send her a report. I'm confused by all the passing back and forth that's happening to me. Anyone I've seen always send a report to my PCP after the appt.
It was refreshing to see another post about a postive experience at a pain clinic. That's what I was hoping for.
Oh well...back to the beginning...

In my experience a PM Doctor does not have time to investigate what's going on with you, you are send to a PM Doc after an NS, Ortho, Rheumy, GP, etc. has given you a concrete diagnosis and, then he/she comes in to take care of the pain. I think that you should see an Ortho for the shoulder issue, and an NS for the cervical issue, and then have one of those specialist give you a definite diagnosis, if surgery is not possible or advice, then you can be send to a PM to treat the long term pain.
I hope that these helps, maybe you will stop feeling like a ping-pong ball once one of these professionals give you a definite and concrete diagnosis.
Big Hugs,
