i am sorry I haven't been around for awhile and will probably be taking some time off. I am very tired and do not have much strength. For some reason, all of a sudden, a little over a week ago I started to have trouble breathing. I was diagnosed with COPD several years ago and like an idiot continued to smoke. Four months ago I stopped smoking. When I was in the hospital for my surgery my breathing tanked and I could not breathe. I was put on oxygen 24/7 and after a week was stable enough to go home. After being home for a couple of weeks my breathing started to improve and I was actually able to just wear my oxygen at night until last Sunday. I started to have difficulty even on the oxygen but I didn't want to deal with it. I felt like I just got out of the hospital and did not want to go back. Last Tuesday I awoke with a massive headache and nausea. I gave in and went to the ER. Turns out I had Hospital Acquired double pneumonia and was admitted to a step down unit from ICU. I just got out and wanted to touch base with my DS friends and let them know what is going on. I am tired and extremely depressed. I know this is going to pass, but right now can not feel any optimism. Just writing this post is tiring which is why I will probably be absent for awhile. Please know that I will be thinking of all of you and wish you low pain days. I love you all.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

You didn't do anything wrong. You probably had pneumonia before you even left the hospital, this is why you ended up on oxygen from the start.
Being incubated back to back frequently causes these complicarions, especially in people who smoked. I am so sorry that you are going through this..
Many hugs..
Hope you feel better soon.
I think I had pneumonia in January, I was running a fever and so weak, dr gave me several weeks of antibiotics but only because I insisted- she looked at me like I was crazy, I said I'm not well enough to work, how will I pay my bills ( her bill?! ) I took two months off but couldn't rest like I wanted- my son was ill three hours away and I had to keep driving there. Looking back it was all surreal! I don't know how I did it.
Get well soon Jasmine.
Take care, and hugs.
