Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
This life of CP is really hard. No one understands. Those who should are hostile against us (docotrs petioning FDA to stop allowing our treatments, FLA drug addicts and Pill docs causing harm, no one beliueing our reports of pain). The stress is constant. So it is normal to be afraid that you will b e tossed onto the waves of prejudice and disbelief when mistakes. happen
bwhahaha, me over think things? you silly girl...
i've had a packing list going for a week for 5 night trip, have my countdown calendar, just bought an extra litter box so penny could adjust to it before i go...
daily life is pretty much the same...but i don't know if that's from being sedentary or CP and trying to figure out how to minimize pain and still live.
Some things are unnecessary stressors, I know I tend to over worry about the most mundane silly things sometimes.
But then there are other things like your health, medical diagnosis that I think is perfectly acceptable to worry about. Or your medications and how they react with you or interact with one another. Worry as in being safe/cautious.
Like Sunny said- you had very good reasons to worry
He is a perfectionist of sorts.
Jan are you a perfectionist? Maybe that is part of the equation
But really, with our PM doctors I think over thinking would be perfectly normal and I am glad this was not the case.
I do sudoku as a distraction. Works for me.
I had a pharmacy screw up on me 3 times so of course, I changed. First they gave me the wrong medication, then they gave me someone else s medication, and I forget the third mistake. 2 was enough anyway. I think they shorted me was the third. Always check you medications before taking them and when in doubt, ask the pharmacist if the new meds are going to interfere with the other ones or check on line. Doctors usually know too. I've learned not to take anything for granted when it comes to my medication.
Deep thinking is my game and causes much of my anxiety which then adds to my pain. Oh wait is over thinking the same. If not I do that to.
I worry all the time. I did before CP. I am wound tight. I am like a girl scout prepared for everything and nothing that is going to happen.
Great questions JC.

Usually I won't take a Med without reading the warning parts of the printout my pharmacy gives you with every Med.
This is a " specialty" pharmacy that does there own xompounds.
They didn't give us a print-out, so, I asked my husband..who asked them ..what the side effects were. They said there shouldn't be any.
Which led me to believe it was an innocuos Med.
They DID NOT say..don't take this ed if you've had ANY opiates in the last seven to ten days.
( which would mean, sure as HELL don't take it if you've been on consistent hihg-dose strong opiates for three years!
Now..the Med is ..naltrexone ( I'm pretty sure..I always forget it when I'm not looking at it.
They gave me the dos that is foe LDN..low-dose-naltrexone....an off label use for naltrexone for auttoimmune disorder.
What my Dr. pRESCRIBED was..Micro-dosing........004..as opposed to the 4ml that they gave me. 100x the prescribed amount. !!!!!
( and..yes..naltrexone is used in much higher doses to treat drug addiction and alcoholism. It's even used to speed-detox people from opiates....While they're SEDATED to unconsciousness!
I KNOW mistakes happen..in any and every field. That part makes me angry.
The part about them not warning not to take it with oiates ( KNOWING it came from a pain management Dr....well..that infuriates me.
I don't see how they could NOT. especially when asked......say, yeh..don't do that..you'll wish you were dead in an hour.
Sorry..evidently I'm not fully " vented" about this.
I was being cautious of wjat I said on a public forum until we had the facts.
Sorry this is such a very long ramble.
Again..thank you all, for your support on this thread..and through this wretched last month.
Luv n hugs..jc
Micro-dosimg is another off-label use for it..
It actually makes it possible to take LESS opiates..because it potentiates the painkilling affect of them. I've read up on it..
It has some solid science behind it..so..I'll probably try it.
Just..not yet..:-) :-) Kind of terrorfied of it for now.:-)
Had you been weaned down? If you hadn't weaned down at all.....man, I'm speechless. Geezzzzzz, the pharmacist was extremely negligent in this case.
I'm so glad you found out your doctor didn't play a part in this nightmare of a situation. I totally love my PM and would be so lost as well as terrified to lose him. He is a CP himself so he gets this burden we all live with.......
Jan you have every right to rage and rant about this situation. I firmly believe you need to get the fear and frustrations out a bit so you can think things through with a rational head.
Much love as always AND super duper hugs!
Deb
And..yes..you have to be completely clear of opiates for seven to ten days to use it.
It's usually a dose of about 4.5 mlgrms.
MICRO dosing is about. . 004 mlgrms..( I think that can also be said
.004 micrograms.
As I said..about a hundred times the dose I was supposed to get.
Thanks for permission to rant..
I didn't even know that was still bothering me so much.
