Forgot to say went to work yesterday without taking pain meds, and left all pain meds at home. By the time I got home I just had to go ti bed.... Sighhhhhhhh...

So sorry this is happening. Hope you get an appointment ASAP. Tell them to put you on their waiting list then keep calling them. Going through all your sick days is just miserable.

w0w hope they keep you instead of firing you...I have lost jobs when I took too many sick days where sick days were allowed...most recent jobs I had have no sick days....

When I was near death, I got appointment with specialist next day.
Be glad that you have to wait -- means they don't expect you to die very soon.

Not really what you want to hear. But small things have to be all we hope for from time to time.

Oh, Scriberheart! I'm so sorry you're going through this. Before I was diagnosed with lupus, I was written up at every job for using too many sick days. And yet there were those who took sick days to go to the shore or go out partying. It just didn't seem fair.

What specialist is he sending you too? You may have an anutoimmune disorder and that requires a rheumatologist.

Maybe telling your employer what is going on might help. Maybe they'll realize that you are truly sick and not just goofing off. When I told my nurse manager that t was being worked up for lupus, she offered me different hours and a different schedule that helped me work more and loose less hours from being out sick.

And I'll bet you'll never forget to take your pain meds with you again.
I hope you got a chance to rest up over the weekend.

And don't apologize for ranting or whining or anything else here. That's what we're here for-and we've all done it at one time or another.

Sorry you've been feeling so bad for so long..i'm like you and can't seem to shake my cold or flu symptoms so my gp said to get a blood test then maybe see a immunologist.

I hope you start to pick up soon and don't have a long wait for the new doc. Good Luck

i am in that boat as well regarding sick days. We don't get them. And in the past 4 months I have missed more than 2 weeks of work. Sunday I was hurting bad enough to call in sick. Or try to call in sick. I was told that if I didn't show up it would count against me and that if I was hurting to the point I couldn't do my job they may decide to put me on leave. And that I was in danger of losing my insurance and vacation time.

I have a neurologist appointment in May. If he takes me off work I will use my disability insurance to keep some kind of income and while I am off will start the application process for SSI or SSDI.

Thanks for the good wishes. I ended up getting an appt. with a PA this coming Tuesday.

They would not give me an excuse for work and suggested I go to the ER. I left in hysterics!!!

I had to go explain everything to my family Doctor and he ended up writing the note.

It would be such a blessing if the patient could rest instead of getting the run around at every turn...sigh.

Living with Chronic Pain often times tends to lower your bodies immune system, so catching all the bugs around and having other difficulties is not abnormal. Finding enough time off when you work in "mainstream America" is always difficult and Dr.'s do have a hard time categorizing recurring symptoms as just a normal bug or a specialist's issue. I hope you find a Dr. to help you with this problem.

I am so glad to see you back here!! I am also glad to see you found an appointment. Just know, and I do from recent experience, once FMLA runs out your job is no longer protected. There is intermittent and continuous but even that has a cap on it. If you are on short term disability with FMLA that is good. However, short term disability is only good for about 6 months.....and once it's out long term disability kicks in. Once you are on long term disability most jobs fire you.
