This is a Chronic Pain group, Tabby.

I got up for the day at 2:00 this morning, I have a frighteningly labor intensive workday ahead despite the high level of pain I'm experiencing and I signed on to DS , as usual, to check in on my friends.....not to hear yaying or booing over the election results.

I am truly disappointed that anyone here would think this is ok. Between the tv and facebook, I had already had my fill.

Please leave this subject and your personal opinion at the door. In my opinion, this doesn't belong in a CP group.

People on this Board post threads and talk about Off Topic subjects alllll the time, this is no different. She didn't do anything that everyone else on here does all the time.

I agree with Cherry. We are just sick to death of politics.
It's also true off topics come up.and it's not a big deal. But this election has been shoved down our throats so long that some of us are looking for a break from it all,election news.
When someone on here seems short with you or others it's not personal. remember we are all in pain.
Cherry has needed to slow down working for along time.it's just not totally possible yet.Not many of us pain people can/or do work a full schedule.Peace all.

I do not talk politics or religion with friends. But some people do.

I am taking the day off to recoup from this shock, I have so many tenants that gave me notice that they were going to close their businesses if Omama was re-elected. There will be many businesses closing by the end of the year. I will have a lot of empty space to lease.

How does it relate to chronic pain - only the stress of losing the freedom that our founders fought for and losing businesses. If a person is on disability I am sure it doesn't matter as much.

I am sure that The War and Terror group is a better place to post a general topic like this.

I pray for all of us.The US was divided almost evenly. So I guess half of us will be celebrating and half of us will be panicking.

I do hope that the people who are not celebrating are able to keep the stress low enough not to increase their pain levels.

I stayed as far away from the elections as I could. I voted.

Additional stress is my enemy and I'm super sensitive to it. This topic is chalk full of controversy so I probably should have passed it by. Unfortunately I didn't. As soon as I saw "Obama Wins" I should have gone on to the next topic.

There are many who post "off topic" and I suppose this has as much a right to be posted here as others.

I think you had every right to post this. But politics, like religion, are touchy subjects. And I have to agree- it seems like this race was shoved down our throats for so long that everyone is just so tired of it all.

I'm just glad that SSD and Medicare won't be reduced or taken away for now. I worked hard and paid into the system since I was 16. I don't know what I would have done if it was stopped. That check is essential for our family.

But I am glad that so many people voted. I read that one 21 year old woman was in active labor, but voted on her way to the hospital. One older guy cardiac arrested at a polling place, was revived, and the first words out of his mouth was, "Did I vote?". It shows that no one has a good excuse for not voting. So many states have other ways to vote instead of physically going to a voting place.

I'm praying that everyone- Democrats, Republicans, Independents and everyone else can put their differences aside and help re-build this country.

I can understand her enthusiasm. Having CP there's not always a lot to be excited about. I had to go to the polls twice on a dr appt day, wait in line w/o my cane which has gone missing, so I'm happy to see that one of my votes meant something.

I had an horrific night last night due to a babysitter we adored canceling on us with a lie. I'll grab any straw to stay positive. And just knowing that I won't be getting any more phone calls and see any more negative ads makes me happy. So tabby- it's okay with me Hun! An off-topic post every few years won't kill the board. That said, I'm a Democrat married to a Republican, so I try awfully hard to be kind about the win. Hey- it made me smile and not think about increased pain so it can't be all bad. Enthusiasm isn't a sin. ;)

I always keep these kind of comments to myself. Everyone likes and dislikes one or the other. Best to just not talk about it, plus We have heard enough of it on the TV, NEWS, AND RADIO!!!!! Im just sick of hearing about it. As far as chronic pain hope everyone has a pain free tomorrow. :)
