Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Hugs,
Wishing you all the best sweetie. Take care... Gaye... xxx
I took Oxycontin for a short time, but it made me ITCH -- so my doc put me on a similar drug, MS Contin -- and that worked for quite awhile. Well, it at least took the 'edge' off -- I certainly wasn't pain free!!!
After quite awhile on the MS contin, it stopped working. So we changed to something else. Right now, I'm on the Fentanyl patch along with Methadone, and those seem to help.
I sure hope the OXY works well for you -- it's been a long haul for you. Keep us posted, ok? Hugs, Lee
So far so good. I took my first dose of Oxycontin last night and finally got some pain relief. It was so nice to relax and watch a movie and actually be able to focus on the movie instead of the pain. Its been too long. I took my second dose this morning and was down to a pain level of about 2 for a few hours - what amazing relief! But of course feeling so good means I overdid it and I was in pain again pretty good by about 3:30. Took a 1/2 a percocet for that and I'm lying down now. I'm hopeful that my evening dose at 8:30 will give me another nice relaxing evening. I never imagined it would work as well as it has so far so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it keeps working.
Wishing everyone a minimal pain evening,
Lisa
