Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Okay I did a lot of thinking as I was reading this & truthfully if I was to meet anyone right now I think I might die of embarrassment as for the past year that I went off my better meds to trying to handle my pain without (my choice with a huge shove from Mom & Dad) it seems like all I wear are t-shirts & sweats. I used to work at a health insurance company & used to dress to impress 5 days a week & even on dress down days, today would be a total dress up day to me. It's actually kinda sad now that I am thinking about it. Dixe anytime you want to come over & help me de-clutter my life, I would be eternally grateful. Before I met my husband, even though I still lived w/Mom, Dad & Nana everything had a home, everything was clean, heck, I washed my car inside & out at least once a week. You could say I was borderline OCD (? is that the right term).
My husband is a complete slob who also live with his Mom & when we got married of course we had to live there. I lasted 6 months & it was her or me or bloodshed. I had it picture in my mind that my parents moved in with my Dad's Mom when they married & live was always great, everyone got along & the things my Mom hated doing (cooking, cleaning, ect.) Nana loved to do. This is what I thought I was walking into, unfortunately it was like that show Buried Alive or Hoarders. There are literally paths through the house from floor to ceiling & all I heard was it'll change. Almost 13 years later & even though we no long live with the pycho mother in law from hell (yes really) turns out the hubby is JUST LIKE HER....HELP.
JC, I have to say thanks yet again. If it wasn't for this thread god knows how long I'd just going through the days just being. I am going to take my life back. I want the clean uncluttered house I used to have, I want the back addition finish off as the playroom that we discussed before we even moved here, I don't care if I have to do it myself or beg a few of the big macho guys that I have for neighbors to help (boy would that piss the hubby off, lol).
I want my bedroom back, I've been sleeping on the couch for the past 6 months because he made the bed so damn high with my bad back down to toes, there is no way I can get into it. Then of course I have ALL my clothes just kinda thrown on my side of the bed since i never bother going in there. I have ranges from size 6-18 since I was bigger at one point then over a 2-3 year period I lost so much (185 after both births down to 125), needless to say the med change last Jan really killed me weight wise as I am back over 200 (the biggest ever, just as big as I was at 9 months w/my 1st son).
I still have all of my nice dressy clothes, I just need to organize & clean out. As for my style, well that's all about to change as I clean out & get 'me' back. I absolutely LOVE animals, cats & dogs are my favorites & right now I have 1 dog, 3 cats plus 1 stray cat & 1stray human that I am kinda looking after. What can I say, I know I'll never be rich because I am too much of a sucker. I think it may have been tattooed on my back or head or something, Even when I was little I was always getting in trouble for bringing 'strays' home, somethings will never change. That part of me is my Nana all the way, god I miss her.
I want to go back to before I got hurt & go to my kids schools for the field trips & different function. In Pre-K I was always at the school. I would love to get into doing crafts, CW how good of a teacher are you? I have tried so many times & even some of the best have given up on me, craft wise that is, lol. I actually felt so good when I had my sons party as their friends Mom was so impressed that I had not only made & ice all the 3 different flavored cupcakes myself but I also had 6 totes of different crafts (ornaments, magnets, ect.) for the kids to do (that;s the only crafts I'm ok with, lol) & I made up, as the kids put it totally awesome party bags.
Okay, I'm sorry guys. I just can't seem to shut up tonight but I am seeing a lot & most of it that I am seeing I really don't like anymore. I don't know, time for change, thank all of you, my new found friends. You guys have no clue how much you have all done for me, Love you guys...
What I wear most and what I own the most of is pj's!
I've got pj capri sets, onesies (yes with feet, lol), spaghetti strap nightys of valour and cotton, lots of boxer shorts and white tanks + t-shirts. Don't want to leave out my cold weather pj's made out of fleece.
My favorite one is my red velour onesie that my husband got me last Valentines Day.
I love to read JR Ward, Sherilynn Kenyon, Christine Feehan, James Patterson, Shannon Bucher.
My TV room is called the Green Room. Carpet's green, walls we painted a goldy mustard tone, soft yellow theater drapes with a beige loveseat recliner with an end table on each side of it. Our other living room has my husband's man cave. Our german shrunk sits against one wall and his TV on the other. Have a formal dining room and a kitchen dining table on either side of our kitchen. 2 squirelly cats, 1 dog that's probably gonna outlive the old fart and me (he's 15 this year).
We just finished planting 6 knockout rose bushes today. The over 30 days at or above 100 with a once a week watering per city ordinance took out 3 of my rosebushes. I couldn't weed or do anything for 6 months due to the knee surgery I had in Sept. Now my neck is acting up. It's alway something, right? Oy vay! So that pretty much is where I live and what I do!
Me...I'm a neo hippy / 1930/40's country / mid-evil rennaisance girl living on the beach in my mind.
I love birkenstocks or ballet slippers. I enjoy simple flower pattern cotton dresses; tie dye clothes; maxi skirts/dresses and simple things like leggings, gauchos and big mens shirts. I have bright colors and basics, tapestries and batik prints too.
I also love mid evil/rennaisancce type clothing (think Lord of the rings, Scottish / Irish Castles and cloaks!)
My furniture style/home design??? I have a black metal frame sleigh bed with lots of pillows. A big tapestry duvet from Coldwater Creek with red, cream or black flannel sheets and an amythest body pillow.
I like simple lines. I have tons of light house / beach related decorations too. I also have a lot of ecclectic things - african boxes, indian jewlry, new age things and native american things.
My other obsession is scottish/celtic jewlry, clothing, music, bagpipes, tartans, food, brooches, claddagh, designs.
Well, I could go on and on but...you get the picture I am sure.
Thanks again for your great post and thank you everyone for sharing about yourself.
HUGS
we really get to know the inner person here, unlike in real life where you make an instant, unconscious judgement as soon as you look at someone. it's really nice to do it in reverse.
i know people see me walking with a cane and decision made.
i have two extensive tats and quite a few piercings, but all could be hidden to look professional. i have my own pool cue. and i still cry when i watch it's a wonderful life. that's my emotional description.
it's so nice to have this group of wonderful people to get to know better and better.
