Hello all:
I have this "mysterious" pain in my legs and feet most days. I say mysterious becasue I have asked 5 doctors and they ignore me. I had a brain hemorrahge two and a half years ago. I returned to work grdually. When I went from 28 to 40 hours thats when the pain started. I can pinpoint that time EXACTLY. I have told doctors this.
Some days it is very painful. Some loss of feeling. It gets a little better as the day goes. On my days off, I sit in a hot tub and it helps. Today my legs and feet are kllling me. My feet feel like they were beat with hammers alll night.
I would rule out my pain meds as i have been on them the whole time and the leg pain started 7 months after my brain injury. What ticks me off is I have told 5 doctors. Neurlogists and GP. 3 totally ignored my leg pain. One told me it was anxiety. Not! I have anxiety and it has never casued leg pain. One told me it was brain sending the wrong signals to my legs. Oh Ok!
So I basically have accpeted it as a part of life. I believe it is related to my brain injury and the amount of work that I do as not being 100%. Any ideas anyone?? Thnanks.

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. I know that sounds so dramatic but it is how I felt. It...

Tomorrow is National Massachusetts Day!Have you ever lived in or visited Massachusetts? If so, tell us what's great about the Bay State!

Thanks for the reply. The pain is very bad. My legs feel heavy as it is but the pain in my legs is just a very strong dull pain. Sort of like a cramp that never goes away. Sometimes I punch my thighs are hard as I can and it feels better. Circulation maybe? My feet hurt terribly and have a burning feeling. It gets worse as the week goes on which leads me to believe it is fatigue related. Most Saturdays I will soak in the tub for an hour just to get the feeling back.
My docotor said it was the brain sending the wrong signals but did not offer a solution. So I'm stuck with it? Hence why I am at this CP site. I know some may say exercise but I've has other brain patients say this makes it worse. Just need to vent sometimes I guess, and hope other people understand. the doctors sure as hell don't.

Have you ever been checked for Neuropathy? I'm asking cause the pain your describing is like some of my pain. And the heat helps me as well. I will wake up and it feels like my legs were run over by a car. It's horrible so I feel bad your going through this.
I wouldn't give up hope. If you haven't gotten answers with the doctors you have then keep finding a new one if possible. Until they tell you what's wrong. You shouldn't be left in pain like that and it could be anything. So they need to help.
I hope your pain eases up on you and you find your answer to it all.
Best wishes,
Paula
I have to agree with 51percent & Paula. Have you ever had an MRI or Cat Scan of your spine to rule out spinal stenosis. The narrowing of the spinal column can press on nerves causing pain. My feet feel like they have been shot up with novalcaine yet I also have burning pain. I believe the Neurontin I take helps to keep the pain at a minimum yet my feet especially my left foot feels ice cold yet is warm to the touch.
I wish I had better answers for you. All I can say is don't give up keep looking for new Dr's hopefully you will find one with the answers you seek. Again welcome !
Hugs & God Bless
