Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Don't your kids need you or something? Really? Do you have to reply to EVERY post??
I do not get angry very easy but you have pushed me over the edge here. You are not welcome here. You are like the annoying little brother who won''t go away. WE KNOW the damn statistics! We KNOW these drugs are not something to be taken lightly. WE ARE NOT IDIOTS! and we are not your patients.
Just go away. please. just go away and let us have our space.
Kallie
David.
Just a suggestion.
He also has as much right as anyone to post on this site. How dare you tell him to leave. If you don't like it here then why don't you leave? Has this become a site of bullies who try to run off anyone who dares to disagree? And closing a thread because the person you are attacking, yes Dave you attacked another member on a post that had nothing to do with you, has the courage to defend what he wrote. Well that is just childish.
I truly believe that CC cares about all of us and is trying to share his knowledge with us. You may not agree with everything he says and you should certainly do your own research and talk to your doctor. But I bet there are alot of people who have benefited from the info he freely shares.
I'm ashamed of many of you and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Disagreement is fine but this hysteria is way out of line. And you wonder why DS has banned some members...
Unlike cc, I do not claim a medical background. I take my time and try always to give thoughtful responses. In most cases I feel I hold myself to a higher bar when commenting or giving opinions than cc does. This is the area that I have issue with him. He is a professional and needs to choose his words wisely. He is walking a tight rope as a professional when he comments here because as a doctor there are people who will take his word as if it came from their own doctor who actually know them. This could have disasterous results. As a professional he has to be wary of what he says and how he says it. I find that often he is not careful in what he says or how he says it. He doesn't have all the facts just reading a post. None of us do.
In the case in point, I believe he should have said something to the effects that in his opinion the medication levels could be very dangerous and that the poster should seek a second opinion in her area. Again, all the facts and a complete history is not at hand. I believe it would have been more professional to have sent a pm of his concern.
Another situation that drove me a bit nuts was when cc threw in a one liner saying there is a connection between CP and childhood abuse. When pressured he finally posted a link, something most people here will do with one simple request when they are citing something they read, the article spoke of studies looking for the link but ended that to date there is no proven link. Meanwhile here at DS there was an uproar that I don't think was supportive in anyway.
I feel that we should be able to start threads for the sole purpose of debate. I also believe that if the person who started the thread wants to end that thread by asking for it to be closed that is fine as well. Neither of the situations goes against the rules. Threads about debates keeps the debate from rolling through threads asking for support.
These are my opinions based on my opinions as a long time traveler on life's roads.
It was cold and unhelpful. It bothered me and I have had him on ignore since then.
I know sometimes tough is needed but when someone is in pain they need sympathy and validation.
if this really does bother you i encourage you to report his posts for what they are, mental and psychological abuse.
the more the merrier, folks. we are constantly losing good people who happen to be sensitive or feel that they have a right to a safe place here... much to their later remorse. he's pushing it past the limit of constructiveness, education or even concern into abusive territory and HE HAS BEEN doing it for his entire stay.
he's not a published author, he is not a DS approved medical professional and he's violated the rules of the road over and over again.
take the time to read the TOS of this site and then set that into a post where cc shreds someone or their doctor, someone's self control, motivation, dependance on pain medications to control their pain or just rips them for mental weakness and you can identify in the terms observed by the administrators of this forum what is happening and how we are being victimized by his presence. if you don't do it, who will? i'm probably more likely to be banned for saying this than cc is for all of his tactless, careless and dangerous comment.
que sera. the place is bad for me, because of him and the disappointment is huge there, at this time in my life.
if it really bothers you as much as it does a great many of us, you must write DS and report the behavior for what it is. if you don't, you can look forward to his continued harassment and cruelty.
stay strong david, but always remove yourself from situations that are needlessly toxic like this one. it's that or put on the gloves. it's hard for us. so many of us have to have our own fight just to get out of bed... then to face this guy, with what energy we have, it ranks low. i know.
with care for everyone attacked by this sociopath,
jen
