Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
and thank you

Three times I applied for Disability and was denied... my Chiropractor told me about a local attorney who specialized in Disability cases... he turned out to be exactly what I needed... no money down, he took just a small percentage of my settlement amount ("retroactive" payments from the approved disability start date to the date it was finally approved) and he did in a few weeks what I couldn't do in over two years... There are a number of national firms that specialize in Disability... commercials on TV... or look online... or ask someone you trust to recommend a local lawyer...
Finding a good Pain Management Doc also took some time, but the pain meds have helped me more than anything else... a number of family and friends felt the need to repeatedly and loudly "advise" me to stay away from those "horrible" narcotics and opioids... thankfully, I ignored them since the opioids allowed me to get back to living my life... Before opioids, at some point of the day I wound up on my bed, curled up in a ball, weeping... After opioids, I still had pain but it was greatly reduced and I was able to function and work and live...
Even if you can't find the right lawyer or PM Doc right away, there are a number of online resources for hypnosis, guided relaxation, and my personal favorite, brainwave entrainment, all of which you can use to increase relaxation, decrease the degree of pain, and use your body's own chemistry -- endorphins, etc. -- to fight your pain... LOTS of videos on YouTube and many other sites... message me if you want more info...
As for the depression and thoughts of and the desire to end the pain... end everything... I'm usually right there with ya on that one... As I've written on my blog:
"Caught between the two of them, the Pain and the Depression, life can become simply dark, horrific stretches of unbelievable pain and sadness, seeking relief by any available means. Thoughts of suicide transform from intermittent, frightening flights of imagination into nearly constant wishful thinking. My new favorite pastime has become contemplating different scenarios of how and where and when to accomplish the deed and which scenarios would appear the most accidental"
As you know full well, that's not a good place to be... I've had to fight and claw my way back up and out of "the pit" more times that I care to think about... and there have been more than a few times that I was pulled up and out with help from good folks right here... for which I will be eternally grateful...
There are options and resources you can find for free... there is help and support available from good folks here... if you need help, just ask... if venting and complaining help, feel free... You're not alone. :)
Peace,
Dave
