I take percocet. Lorcet wouldn\'t touch the pain and they put me on the percocet it helps more than the lorcet does but the doctor said it\'s highly addicitive.
I have been taking it for over 6 months so I\'m sure I\'m addicted to it by now. I am not sure what they will do when I have my final operation and they take me off of it.
That is one thing I\'m worried about. I would think twice before starting taking it. But it does help the pain and if you are like I was. You would take anything to make the pain go away.

I have experienced the sweats also. I have been on hydrocodone for over 2 years already. It helps with the pain, but the side effects are less than pleasing. I already know that I am addicted to it. Whenever I forget to call my perscriptions in on time, there is a day or two where I don't have it. It makes me miserable because I can feel how much I truly need it for the pain, then I get withdrawl symptoms on top of it. I am currently on a form of it called "Narco".

I have been taken hydrcodone for differnt kinds of pain and yes it works.Abd if I was on it to long I would feel depressed so I would cut my dose in half for awhile,They also have me on Ultram which is a extended release pain med.So when I take both it works well.If the pain is toleratable I will just take the ultram and when it starts to get worse again I take hydro with ultam.
Have you heard of altram?It takes awhile to get it going but my experience has been really good.

I take hydrocodone with soma, together they seem to help but I can only take the hydrocodone for a few days and then skip a couple days or it doesn't seem to be as affective. It also helps to sleep through the pain as another person already listed. Now I do know where the hot one min cold the next is coming from though.

Hi, I'm new here. I've been taking hydrocodone for about 4 yrs now for chronic back pain due to degenerative disc disease. I take 2 3-4 times daily at 10/325mg each. I think it works wonders. Unless I wait to long and the pain gets debilitating, then it doesn't do a thing. That's why I follow my own schedule. I don't overtake, and I hit the pain when it's at a 6-7 not a 9-10. I hope to one day not have to take it, I am 27 and don't want to live my life on pills either. (as someone who is 20 stated earlier) I would love to have a glass of wine again, or go dancing, but I can't because I won't mix alcohol with my meds (so I haven't had a drink in 4 yrs) and I don't want to "throw" my back out moving on the dancefloor. I'm going to wait until I'm 30, then I'm going to try surgery - if my pain hasn't stopped.

Hydrocodone is a very effective medication, vicodin ES is one of the most prescribed forms of this med, for pain that lasts longer than 30 days. The problem with this med though is the high milligram count of acetaminophen (Tylenol) in the pill. 750mg times six pills a day puts you into the liver toxicity range of over 4000mg per day.

Not enough doctors prescribe lortab or better still Norco, most PCP's think that Norco only comes in 10mgs of hydrocodone, it doesn't it comes in 5, 7.5, and 10mgs but all have only 325mgs of acetaminophen. This is much better on the liver and won't cause toxicity.

I wish there was a way to make this the most prescribed med for us.

HI as for the pain medication, I feel the same way. Why should we feel guilty taking our medicine, we will live longer and not be in as much pain, and that is what were going for, right? quality of life? I wonder why my dr doesnt tell me about the tylenol being so toxic? I take 6 oxycodone a day which has 750 ea. tylenol in it. ive been oh hydrocodone for about two years . didnt take very often till after my last surgery a little over a year ago . since then ive took two to four a day . dosent totally take care of my pain but helps ive been on ultram about six years i can take up to eight a day but never do .im not worried about being hooked on them i know im going to need pain meds so why worry about it.and yes i have the sweats to .

cant imagine life without it .i would have no quality i have too much pain without hydrocodone.i will not worry about addiction at this point.that is the least of my problems.

I gave uup feeling bad and worrying about the addiction issues a few years back. Life is to short to worry about societies opinions of pain killers. It is people like Anna Nicole who abused the meds that ruins the way people look at us.
