How to live with this much pain every day

I have Degenerative Disc Disease in my lower back and the pain runs down my right leg. The pain is so intense at times that all I can do is cry, which is what I am doing right now. The pain doctors that they send me to now say that they don't do pain meds only injections. I don't know how much more of that I can take either.I can only be stuck so many times before I lose it. Besides those injections aren't even working any more. Please if anyone is listening out there Please Help Me!!!!

You might need another PM doctor! If they will not give relief you need go elsewhere!

Sorry you are having such a bad time TMichelle, it's scary when people don't help.

Do you have good insurance/ the option of seeing someone else?
Seems a strange pain clinic that does not prescribe...

Or listen to you- although so many drs are arrogant and uncaring that way.

Hi-I can relate -im having an epidural next week-2 lumbar herniations.Has anyone suggested physical therapy?Im a retired p.t.-a good evaluation and home ex program instruction would be helpful.Also they should refer you to a pain management doctor.hugggs

I know exactly what you are going through. I also have degenerative disc disease. I have had 2 discs removed & have had bone grafting done form L5-SI. For many years I was in your position & at times still am. I have a neurosurgeon who now does Rhizotomys on me. It is not a permanent answer but I do get relief from 1-11/2 years. These have to be redone once the nerves re-grow. It might be worthwhile to ask your doctor about these. Hope this info will help a bit. Please feel free to contact me anytime! Sincerely Oreo11

My sources of pain don't respond to injections, nor any surgical procedure on the nerves, so I just wanted to chime in with some loves and hugs to let you know you're not alone. If your insurance allows it, I would definitely seek a different pain doctor. You said "they send me to" does that mean your GP? If so, I would talk to them and ask for a different reference. I'm in Texas if you do choose to look for a new doctor.
