Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. hi friends:
I'm trying to manage my pain without the use of pain meds, mostly because in my state it is really hard to get them prescribed. anyway, i am trying meditation, relaxation, distraction, etc., but they help only a tiny bit if at all. I am still suffering so much that i am miserable, can't work or engage in life. Is there anything that has helped someone out there that you can share with me? Looking for something real and hope.

The best antidepressant is when my wishes are honored. An example, the faucet in my apartment was running although the knobs were turned shut all the way, and one of the pulling strings on my ceiling fan came off. As soon as I notified my maintenance man, he was quick to reply with the work order. RAPID response... he's getting my services around my apartment done. I appreciate my landlord and...

Hello,so I'm currently in a weird relationship with my long distance ex who I've never met in person and it's taking a toll on me. I've lost 15 pounds and lost my appetite, but I'm really attached to him. We've had a lot of problems and I think that has caused me to gain severe anxiety. I don't know if I should wait until it gets better or what. Everytime I've blocked him, it has tend to make me...

I also don't think there's a such thing as a "shared way" of people managing pain, it's as individual as eye color, you have to figure out what works for you. I don't believe anyone should rely on just pain meds, there's a combination of therapies that works for everyone, trick is you have to find what combo works for you. Good wishes on your journey, I hope you find what your looking for.
{ I have osteoarthritis, I have one hip replaced, lost one leg due to infection in a knee replacement. I also have torn rotators in my shoulders and minimal balls left in both shoulders. }
Also Highway Patrol's in all States are now developing and implementing "Driving while Impaired" testing for those who think they can smoke and jump in a car and be perfectly safe. Its different than the test for Alcohol and focuses more on medical information and your body.
I am all for duii tickets to anyone driving under the influence of marijuana. Same as alcohol.
This is from a simple Bing search, not even from a Medical Journal, its an article in the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
"Regular use of the drug has appeared to double the risk of developing a psychotic episode or long-term schizophrenia.
Over the past few years, research has strongly suggested that there is a clear link between early cannabis use and later mental health problems in those with a genetic vulnerability - and that there is a particular issue with the use of cannabis by adolescents.
Depression
A study following 1600 Australian school-children, aged 14 to 15 for seven years, found that while children who use cannabis regularly have a significantly higher risk of depression, the opposite was not the case - children who already suffered from depression were not more likely than anyone else to use cannabis. However, adolescents who used cannabis daily were five times more likely to develop depression and anxiety in later life.
Psychoses - schizophrenia and bipolar disorder
There is now sufficient evidence to show that those who use cannabis particularly at a younger age, such as around the age of 15, have a higher than average risk of developing a psychotic illness, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.
These studies also show that the risk is dose-related. In other words, the more cannabis someone used, the more likely they were to develop a psychotic illness. Furthermore, a study in Australia recently showed that those who used cannabis could develop the illness about 2.70 years earlier than those who did not."
THC just like any chemical found in any drug, legal or illegal, has adverse effects on the human brain, when used on a constant daily basis. I realize that people want MJ to be the answer to Chronic Pain and other Medical Issues, but rarely will there be a majic cure that has no negative side to it, and this one can pack one helluva negative side effect.
Alexia, I hope you find a solution to help you.
