I would be pissed if he went and they said not ready that should have been next thing done and when he went back they should hand it over...I would complain! I guess squeeky wheels get de greese but the fact is it is hard for you to get there now...too bad you could not drive him to work so you could keep the car....oh well hindsight is 2020

I called ahead and said to the gal that I wanna make sure its ready. She tells me, that they can't fill it until the... 16th because they are completely out of stock! WHAAA?? What in the world? I left this RX ( trying to be prepared- I knew I would be w/o a car) YESTERDAY AM... why didn't they TELL MY HUSBAND THAT---- the two times he was there! I would have taken it back and filled it someplace else ... when... HE could drive around for me!
It turned out to be okay in the end because I asked them if they had some of the 20mgs and I will split 'em in half. They did and said it would be ready for me -she asked when will I be there? I said it will take me at least 30mins to walk there. She said it would be ready by then.
Once I started walking I realized that it was getting dark and hopefully I could make it back BEFORE that happens. It was slippery -would be on the way home - I don't see well in the dark but more importantly I prayed that drivers would see *me* in the dark. The whole time down there, I felt like I was racing daylight.
I finally got there (Im ready to fly back home as fast as I can) and the pharmacist says... "Sorry but...its not ready yet." She said that "they had been SO busy today. " **SIGH**

All I wanted was to get that script ( I did) and make it home by dark ( almost did.) So... all in all... all is fine... weird day.

Maybe I outta try and figure out if I ...*somehow* pooped on someones toast or something prior to this fiasco!

And... on the brightest side of this .. there was a day, when I could barely make it shopping . I would get halfway in and have to go home.
Today... I WALKED TO >>> THE STORE! Wow! I can hardly believe it! It was about an hour of walking round trip! I would have never, ever, imagined that to be possible. There is ALWAYS hope!

Maybe you could have them transfer your RX to a pharmacy that has it in stock. I had to do that one time. They called 4 other stores before they found it in stock, but I had it that day.

well I am glad you got the meds...the walk prob did some good...fresh air and walking in brisk cold air can be healthy right? NOT.....now I would have had to ask if they did delivery? some old time pharmacies still have drivers deliver the meds....if they did it would have been requested....I am surprised they gave you larger dose to break in half....it seems that would not be legal but they are the people who know the legality of medications and shiat!

I would call the pharmacist on duty and tell him or her exactly what keeps happening. I think they'll try to make things right.

Yikes. That seems so insensitive on their part. I signed up to get text messages and emails - that helps me avoid most wild goose chases. But I opted to have every med possible sent to mail order pharmacy. It's far less hassle plus saves money. For some meds it's not the best option but for others it works great. I've found a big difference in pharmacy staff here. The most convenient isn't always about hours and location but about customer service. Is there a survey link on the bottom of your receipt? Maybe report the experience and hopefully it might change policy. The local pharmacy here will let me know when they are oos on something and call around to find it. I hope you never have to go thru this crud again!! Hope a little hot chocolate warms ya up quickly :)

A 3-mile fast walk (especially in wintery conditions) is pretty darn impressive. That pharmacy is ridiculous--you're a lot nicer than I am; I would have complained. Drugs are one of those things employees can't be careless about--people's health is at stake.

Ouch! So sorry this happened to you. I thought I had it bad when I had to take my 3 year old to my appointment (1st time in 2 years) and it was a 45 minute wait at the pharmacy. Thank God I brought his Ipad or I would've gone nuts.

Have you used this pharmacy long? Our doctor requires that we use the same pharmacy (and I agree) unless there's an emergency that he agrees to. His office is across from the hospital pharmacy and I've only had one problem there in 2 years.

If you're allowed to switch, the one thing I've found in 16 years of RSD meds is that hospital pharmacies have been the best. I've lived in 4 states since getting married and had to fill in different places. I'd rate the hospital pharmacy as #1. It takes awhile to get everything filled, but they seem to have everything I need and only once did I have to return. I used the hospital pharmacy way back when I was 1st diagnosed, too, and again, way less problems and they have a direct line to the doctor's office.

I agree though, that pharmacist should've TOLD your DH what was wrong! Did they think it was fun for you guys to keep coming back? What a pain. I hope the fresh air did you some good, and no increased pain b/c of the walk.

I hope by the time you get this post, you have received your medication. And don't worry about venting, that is what we are here for. I guess your pharmacy doesn't deliver? I'm so grateful that mine does. I agree with yogacat, make sure and call before your trek it 4 miles round trip! Hugs GB
