I'm sorry this is happen to you...is there a doctor on call you can call?
the vision issue is bother sum to me did it subside after last night?
I know I've had friends and myself included who have just felt on lyrica or gabapentin they said it was almost confused feeling and that things seem not as real or removed from reality...that tends to slow once the medication has time to get into your system.

Mark,
Go to drugs.com and put in all your meds to see if there is a drug reaction between one or more of them.
Lyrica is one of those drugs that must be weaned or you do go through withdrawal. That may be why your doc kept you on the Lyrica as the gaba builds up in your body.

If your symptoms continue, I'd call your doc tomorrow and let him know what's going on.

i am definitely calling my doctor tomorrow, something is going on , but my legs don't hurt too much but that doesn't really mean much that will come eventually today, but i am just tired of these meds they don't help are expensive and i feel so weird today its unnerving , i am just so sick of being sick this 3 year fight has definitely gotten the better of me, thanks all

Mark, if Lyrica isn't helping, then why does he want you to continue taking it?! All it did for me was add 40 lbs onto my already plump body.

If it's not working, it's not working.

As for the woosies, the gaba can cause that. Ask if you can take a small dose to start and titrate up. It's supposed to make your brain less aware of pain.

Your vision will be better if you close one eye. The gaba (and other drugs) reduce your brain's ability to move your eyes together as one unit.

Hi Keesha thanks for the reply, I have only been taking lyrica for 4 months he wants to give it more time, even though its my 3rd time taking it. i mentioned we need to do something different and suggested gaba. but taking both together is definitely not the way to go. i cant find any info where it was prescribed together. i just have another doctor without a clue. i have been at this for 3 years. from suggestions from the best to the worse no one can help me and i am stuck taking oxycodone and methadone. i hate the narcotics they ruined my life. i am feeling better now but i was totally out of it earlier. this combo is not the answer, i will be calling him tomorrow. i am just desperate and out of treatments. I was on 2700mg. of Gabapentin with no side effects and then Lyrica was added. After 10 days on Lyrica I started having reactions. Vision and nausea also with it so now off Lyrica and tittering off Gabapentin. This week appointments with G.I., neuro and rheumy. Hoping for a miracle for pain control but also being realistic for me.

Mark, when I was taking 1200 mg gaba 3 times a day, without success, my doc switched me to Tegretol (carbamazapine) I got the first bit of relief, just enough to take the edge off, from the Tegretol, and I'm glad it's an older, tried-and-true med. I also take amitriptylin. And Soma plus baclofen for wicked muscle spasms. All are old enough to be available in generic.

I think 4 months is long enough to be able to tell whether or not the lyrica is working.

could be one of your other meds mixed with lyrica or gab ...

Lyrica is the MAGIC pill that docs have been pushing for far too long without accepting that it is dangerous.

i have to battle with every new doc about NOT taking it due to the serious swelling it causes me. It is so bad that I can't even wear shoes or feel my feet and legs bruise and cut from just brushing against a counter side.

well i did a drug reaction test on drugs.com i think it was and nothing reacts with each other, the lyrica is the problem. 100mg is all i can handle i think my doc is trying to just boost the lyrica using the gabapentin, also could be he is my pain doc and maybe he just doesn't know, he acts like he does. but my problem i think is my feet don't bother me i used to have numbness in my center toes when i was couch ridden when i first got sick but since i have been more active it went away, all the doctors i have seen just scratch there heads. i don't comply with the norm of needles and pins numbness in the feet. my legs every day pretty much all the time just hurt a lot from my knees to my ankles especially my calves when they do a sensitivity test in my feet i feel everything i do have numbness in my thighs. most doctors don't believe me but social security did i had no problem becoming officially disabled i just know this new combo is nasty makes me so tired i have been in and out of sleep all day, and im sick of being home all the time i want a life again. i need to make friends

Just my experience here....
Started Lyrica at a very low dose for inflammation, within 24 hrs. I was "loopy" for want of a better word. Thought it was just an initial, temporary side effect so kept at it for a week, by that time, I was a mental wreck. Confused, far more forgetful, and ever so dizzy so I got that stopped.
Then came the GABA/Nuerontin...started at 100 once a day for 3 days then up to 1 twice a day for 3 days and then up to one 3 times a day.
I regret to say, that was every bit as bad as the Lyrica had been.
Titrated back down to just 100 twice a day and even that was to much
for me.
My dr. said Lyrica and GABA are in about the same category and used pretty much for the same things.

I very much hope you will consult with your dr. about what is happening to you.

BTW...the narcs I take ruined my life as well:(:( Can't do without them though, I'd be totally immobilized otherwise and they're the only thing that remotely help in addition to the standard things like ice/heat,
ibuprofen, TENS and Lidoderm patches and Voltaren gel.

well didn't sleep real well but i seldom do, the lyrica i think i am done with cant beleive i just filled the prescription, need the $35 more. the pain is driving me crazy methadone does nothing for me , so here goes my 30 mg of oxy, i have to get it by mail order because the pharmacies wont fill the prescriptions any more, thanks fed government

oh yea i guess i am out of options
