On Sunday afternoon my central air conditioner broke. I have a contract with Service America and have had it for 15 years. For the most part I really can't complain and they have saved me a lot of money. I called their call center on Sunday and was told that even though they consider that an emergency there were no technicians who wanted to work overtime in my county. I was told to call back at 8:00 Mon morning. I called Monday and they told me they had no appts until Tues. I told them that this is an emergency but after speaking to the Supervisor again they said Tuesday only. When the tech called to say he was on the way I told him that I hope he had a fan motor because that was what was broken. He said he did not have one and only the tech is qualified to make a diagnosis. When he came he determined that yes it was the fan and they had to order one and would not have one until Thur which did not make me happy. Then later on that day I got a call saying they would be here yesterday. At 3:00 I called to confirm the appt and then again at 4:30. Both times I was told they would be here. At 9:00 last night he called and said it was too late and that he would be here between 8 and 9 this morning. Last night my house was 90 degrees. Guess what? 9:00 came and went. I called the corporate office to complain and after explaining the situation for the 4th time she promised that the tech was currently on a job and I would be the next call. It is now 10:55 and they are still not here. I just want to scream but I don't have the energy. What happened to customer service in this country? I certainly don't know. All I know that right now I am sitting in 87 degree heat and the sun is not at full strength.
