Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Sorry to hear it is so hard dor you right now
Try to relac and rhibk of betterdays ahead..
yup, er doc.....but.......more than them.....
I want the disability judge to spend 5 minutes in my body, that's all it would take, because after 30 seconds he would be pleading for help, after a minute he would be sinking to his knees to the floor in pain he could never of have imagined, after 2 minutes he would be asking to go to the hospital, after 3 minutes he would kill the er doc for me, after 4 minutes he would be pleading for his own death, and at 5 minutes.....you can have your disability!
I have found that if you say upfront that you would like to try an alternative to pain meds first, and they come back in and you are still in pain, they actually talk you into taking them. Reverse psychology might work.
Sending hugs, love, and comfort.

there was a movie years ago where john travolta played the main character and could feel other's pain. he made a hunter touch the deer he just killed. i'd like to do it that way.
I have mostly learned, somehow, over the years....how to MAKE them SEE me........a lot by refusing them not to make eye contact .....
By being unexpectedly honest.......if coherent enough, being corteous and even humorus with them..........In other words...I try not to act like they're not people first.
Of course, all of that just makes it that much more frustrating when you do get that one doc..(in my experience...often a neurologist or neurosurgeon...what's up with that?)......who just won't see you.....won't hear you...................
Sooo...that was a long way of sayin'..yah...know how you feel...
Hugs...jc..
I hope you get to feeling better soon! I am in the pain boat with ya today. I may have to go to the er myself if it doesn't lessen up a bit.
Gentle hugs,
Jenna
something i'd totally forgotten. when i was first going to pain drs looking for a reason, i had all my test results and paperwork in a folder. i printed out a picture of old me. happy, thin, living, smiling big. that's who i was, not this sniveling idiot in front of you. oh, that's nice he said. no put it in my chart b/c i want her back. he probably threw it in the trash, but he saw.
I've thought on occasion we should post before and after pics here....this is the only place I'd be willing to do that, for sure :-) :-)
There were a couple of very good [posts here about how to rate your pain a while back. I think the most important thing is to describe it in terms of what you cannot do in your daily life as a result of your pain. I find that makes them stop and think.
I hope you can call your doc back and explain how badly your pain is affecting your life and ask for something different that could help you.
Feel better,

I want the addicts who created this problem for us to have to carry our pain for us until we feel like giving it back to them. Then let them go to the ER with real need and see how they like it!
Then ask them if drug addiction behavior is a "victim-less" crime?
