Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I googled snapping/popping hip syndrome and xrays are not always the right method for a conclusion..]]
This one of the comments.
Are any tests necessary to diagnose snapping hip syndrome?
An X-Ray is usually taken to confirm that there is no bony problem around the hip joint, but X-Rays are almost always normal with snapping hip syndrome. If the cause of snapping hip syndrome is thought to be due to a tear of the cartilage within the hip joint, an MRI may be obtained to look for evidence of this difficult to diagnose problem.
There are several different reasons and yours sounds like they have don diagnosed correctly. You really need help and it is now! Do you have an ortho that can be seen ASAP?
I wish there was something I could do for you.
Hugs,
Joanne
joanne, got an mri and was told my hip looked "clean." only ortho surgeons here, no consult without broken bones according to website.
Then I would call the doctor. That is what they are here for. You certainly are not complaining.
I think the "DS support" thread was more about all the OFF TOPIC posts and people who are really not in chronic pain who come with acute situations ONLY. And people who think chronic illness is the same as chronic pain. When you weren't here, there were a couple people who were really mean to people for just replying to a post. They claimed it was support by attacking someone else's for sharing a story.
I wish we could get a CL to stop this stuff and let people who have CP share with each other so we can be about CP.
Hope you feel better soon
Sunny
don't stop posting about this it's what this group is about being in pain and being with people who understand pain and how deeply it affects every bit of our lives. there are still people that care deeply and want nothing but know how you are and to give support.
don't let the bickering scare you off that's seems to be the desired reaction we all need each other for support in this fight called pain.
I hope you find a answer soon and that you can get some rest I would call your doctor I know how you feel I've been scared off by doctors and ERs its taxing cccc
hang in there dear
lots of hugs and fairy dust

Please continue to post as much as you like about what you wish. Please do NOT apologize either. You are so sweet and considerate of other people. I agree with Joanne that you need an MRI and an ortho doc. You have been suffering for way too long. I am behind you 100% and will continue to support you in any way that I can. Sending loads of hugs over your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you get bombarded with suggestions that seem lame but if it is between the joint, this may help
There are really good ones and ones not so good.
If you want I will share the ones I take that really helped me a lot..
U and I both have RA and if the prednisone isn't working it could possibly be bursitis. I know you have a bursa sac between your hip bone, joints and tendons and it can get damaged.
I've had my hip bursa sac damaged and my RA dr sent me to an orthopedic. I can't remember what they did for it but a suggestion to try. I'm so sorry you have been hurting for so long :(
Xoxo MLC
Please continue to post as we want to support you! There just has to be a medical professional that will take this very seriously!
Hugs,
Joanne
boyfriend got me in the car and took me to hospital. got to the window, explained problem to the receptionist, and was told that because i was there in march they will not see me again because its a follow-up. told them i was seeing my primary and trying prednisone but its not working. told me there was nothing they could do, closed the recption window in my face.
how can this be happening?
This does not seem legal? Is there a walk in clinic? Another hospital?
Wicked assault on you.
Hugs,
Joanne
told boyfrined to call 911and let them deal with it if resting pulse gets too high and i'm not coherent, just don't know where to set the bar for "too high'. just so scared, this seems like a bad dream.
Is it possible that you have no insurance? I don't know if you shared that. But it seems to me that CP'ers and the uninsured are being treated like low life pond scum. It really has gotten out of hand.
I am afraid that it will just get worse and worse.
And addicts claim they only harm themselves with their criminal activities.
If you go to a different hospital, you could be labeled shopping (possibly for pain meds) by some maniac nurse or intern. I'd be careful about doing that.
I never use the ER for anything. When I could not breathe at home and passed out, hubby was able to call ambulance, I woke in ER but it was as pointless as your visit today. They just do NOT care that pain can kill people.
Guess we should all just die and rid the world of the worry of us "useless" people. What happened to compassion for human beings? They don't treat animals this way! In FACT, if you allowed your pet to suffer like you are doing, you would be thrown in jail for animal abuse. But us, nope we are not as valued as the family pet!
Nice world we live in!
