hi jancam...last year, i had the shingles 5 times in 5 months may june juley august and september!!! man i know what you mean! its like when it rins it pours...cant win for nothing...i hope things improve for you time will heal

JC, I do feel badly for you. Shingles are very painful as I hear. My Dad had them once due to stress. I will join your pity party. Please know you are loved.

i have never been tested for lupus, is reoccurring shingles a symptom?

So to join this pity party I brought hats n blowy things to make noise... So sorry jc it is pain I'm fortunate not to have YET!!!

But its not going to scar your purty face... First time I learned of shingles it was because of scarring on face of roommate in mental hospital in CT.

I don't know that it's a " symptom"..but there are a few things that that can cause actual recurring shingles..and Lupas is one of the..if not the..most common.
( lots of people are misdiagnosed with recurring shingles, according to my Immunologist. Having one of the root causes helps sort out DX.

hey Jan... I'll join your pity party. Unfortunately we all need one at one time or another. I'm sorry you have the shingles again. I've never had them but I understand they're painful.

Are you taking Acyclovir? It does help a bit.

Sorry you have such a painful condition. Hopefully RSD won't follow this episode too.

Yes, Sandy..
I have acylovir on stand by for shingles and antibiotics for celulitis.
Kinda crazy what a pharmacy I have on hand.
I took acyclovir at very first sign of rash ( wish there was a way to now that's what's making you nauseated with fever before the.
Oh well..I guess the acyclovir pretty much just minimizes the rash.

Hopefully.
Chance of neuralgia.

Must've been scare to have the rash around your eye..it can be blinding. I was lucky..when I got occipital neuralgia from it
..the rash was on my head

Not by my eye or ear.

I'll come to your pity party. it is well deserved. you need shingles like a whole in the wall. After all you suffer with already and now this. I've never had them, but my mom, god rest her soul, had a bad bout with them all over her body. She had a lot of pain with it so I hope this doesn't cause you much more than you're already dealing with. What a bitch, never fails always something before a Holiday!

I always say when I'm having a real bad day that it can't get worse, but then I stop myself because as we know it can always get worse. I do hope they go away soon for you.
