Your post brought back a fond memory for me. When my son was young we lived a ferry ride away from Canada. Where High Tea and Murchies Tea is celebrated. So following their example I started having afternoon High Tea ready for my son when he came home from school. It gave us a special time to sit together, chat and share our day. My son loved clotted cream and scones. He is the only Army dude in fatigues that would feel perfectly comfortable sitting down with the queen sipping tea. LOL! He also is perfectly comfortable in Army boots and carrying an Ak47. :)

So save a spot at the table for me. I love tea and scones. Afternoon tea is a beautiful tradition. Hugs, Cathy

my bathmat was airing out on the balcony and took off like a kite. had to retrieve it. another neighbor hit on me. am i giving off musk? i am not looking good.

Cathy- you have my mouth watering for clotted cream and scones! I don't drink "tea" but I will have cocoa with my warm scones and cool Devonshire cream and strawberry jam. That's the last thing I ate in London before I flew home last trip. Last thing I ate in Dublin and Edinburgh before flying home, LOL!

I tried to have a store that sells British clotted cream send me some, but it was rancid when it got here. I DO live about 40 minutes from the Detroit River- across it is Windsor, Canada. I wonder if THEY sell clotted cream?

My mind is overwhelmed with memories of cocoa and scones- and I'd love to get my son to eat that, too. What a great tradition! Fortunately I have a few years to go before my son goes off to school, but what a cool way to welcome him home!
