I am glad you found a solution to your problem. I personally use Walmart, as it is very painful for me to stand or walk for more than a few minutes. Walmart has these nice little scooter things. I have nevver had any problem with a pharmacist while riding one-just a thought for some who may have the same issue. If you're using even a store-provided scooter, they stop looking at age or apparent health, and only see the "wheel chair".

I would report this pharmacist at the next level up and keep moving up until you get results.

Remember, that pharmacist is an employee, not the boss and has no say concerning your doctors orders.

That's another point, if she doesn't like it she can complain to your doc and then get a butt chewing.

It's illegal for her to say something against what your doctor is ordering.

I've used the same Walgreens for 15 years and even now that I have moved across town and CVS is practically next door, I still use the same Walgreens.

At least at the Walgreens I use everyone is attentive to questions, they'll let me know of any interactions to anything. "Oh, while you're on this, avoid over the counter ____, it can cause____" Which my doctor never tells me. They've asked me about medication reasons here and there but when I just give them an honest no bullshit answer they look at me and say "Oh, there's a difference between the generic and the brand name." And return to what they are doing. So, they can have valid reasons for asking.

I find Walgreens wonderful, I'm sure that's not everyone's experience particularly with different staffing. But please don't knock the whole company based on a few people with less than stellar customer service skills.

Why wouldn't they fill your prescriptions?

It's none of that pharmacists bees wax why you need to take pain meds.. His only job and ONLY job is to fill that script. it's not his job to asses whether you need to take pain meds and how much. It's the drs job and the dr has already written you a script. That is so irritating, pharmacists playing doctor! I'd just go find a non corporate pharm to get your meds filled. Walgreens is stepping way out of line on this one! Sorry you were treated that way.. arrg!

I found a small town ma and pa pharmacy, and they treat me like gold. Try that.

I dont know why they wouldnt fill my scripts. They just told me that they dont carry those, and that I should ask my Dr. to change my prescription, or they would say that they dont have it, and they could order it, but it could take up to 2 weeks, and the other 2 just told me that they dont have it, without even checking with the pharmacist and they wouldnt order it for me, cause they said it would take too long and they wouldnt want me to go without my meds for that long. But, the thing is, in the past, I have filled the same meds at all of those pharmacies, but I wore my work clothes (shirt and tie) and didnt get hassled.

It is interesting the different treatment you receive depending on what you are wearing. I have noticed the same thing. I think that the nicer/more proffessional you look the less they suspect you of being a drug abuser. It is silly but so true.

My daughter says do not talk to walgreens corporate !!!! Take your diagnosis to the Parmacy's Manager.. not the store mngr. and explain situation b-4 you go to corporate. Corporate may just dicipline you rather than the pharmacy tech or pharmacist. Go thru the channels 1st with respect and try to understand these people do not understand CP. They see people getting addicted and fear for many reasons. yes it would be nice if people just did their job and left the dr.s to do their jobs but that is not reality today. This is what we deal with and so try to not take it so personal. It is difficult to keep off the defensive because it happens so frequently to all of us! I've been suffering with Chronic Pain With obvious reasons MRI's shw the reasons for my pain... for 7 yrs and 1 month now and it only gets worse... even nurses and docs in hospitals do not treat us well most of the time. So many CP sufferers do not have any visible reason for pain anymore yet suffer disabling pain anyways... Best wishes

PS Keep looking for different smaller pharmacies to fill ur scripts. I have a small personally owned that is located close proximity to a major university hospital and they carry the doses and amounts some of us take.

I make my transactions quickly in the pharmacy and I stay with my small, local store. I have asked about the meds and referrals for pain management physicians to the head pharmacist. That's about as crisp and professional a way to handle this as far as I am concerned. I bless my primary for treating my condition with respect and I try not to let the turkeys get me down lol.....

I to have been dealing with cronic pain for about 4 yrs now, I have been going to the same pharm for the 4 yrs I've been seeing the pain management Dr,the problem I have is the Military Dr's. If I go into the ER with anything they are so afraid to treat me with anything because I see a pain Dr, I find this so unfair and on top of it all they have black labled me in my records.I just want to be treated like anyone else.I don't know what to do about this,What do I say to them when I can't take my meds because of a stomach bug or when I have a severe headache, Please give any advice I am stuck in a dead end, living but not really living, see I have panic attacks and suffer everyday but know one with address this because I see a pain Dr

Meliday- I am not sure I understand your post. Are you saying that they won't treat your pain because you see a pain doc or are you saying that they won't treat you for your anxiety or any other problem because you see a pain doc? In either case, I don't know how they can get away with not treating you, even for pain, because you see a pain specialist. Even with our normal pain meds on board, we can have times when there is an exacerbation of pain and what we normally take isn't putting a dent in the problem. I can especially not understand if they won't treat you for anxiety because you see someone for pain. This is crazy. What exactly have they told you is the reason they won't treat you? What has led you to believe that they have put damaging remarks in your file? Have you ever tried to get your PCP to give you something for anxiety? If not, I would try either that or getting yourself a good psychiatrist.

Olddog, Thank you for writing me, I go to a military dr and I asked them to adress my panic disorder and they said they can't put me on anything due to fact I see a pain Dr,I don't know who to turn to for this,My pain is being controled but my panic disorder is getting worse.It is taking over my life and the Dr's at the Naval Hosp will not do anything because of the meds I'm on for my Chronic pain, I have tried to talk to them and nobody is willing to help me.I have a son in Iraq and a 12 yr old daughter that need me but because I am so wraped up in panic attacks I can not function,Please help I am in need of some good advice,I have heard the Dr say that before the relized my condition a dr who is not there anymore had put in my records that I am seeking meds, which after that they found out just how bad my condition is and then sent me to a Pain Management Dr, who has done wonders for me but like you said sometimes I have a problem getting the pain under control and go to the ER and there I face them treating me like a drug addict,I just don't know what to do I just want to be treated like a normal person
