Keep in mind that many people react to these meds for a week while their system adjusts. The first time I took oxycontin I immediately started throwing up. But then I got comfortable enough on it that I was on it for a year with no problems.
If you cannot tolerate this medication, you may want to try Methadone as your next step. Yes, methadone is used for pain - not just replacing heroin in addicts. And people who have opiates allergies are sometimes able to tolerate Methadone.
If the oxymorphone makes you itch, ask your doctor if you can take some Benadryl to help.
Take care,

Methadone is a good option, it actually gains tolerance slower than other opioids for a lot of people. It doesnt actually block other opioids until the dose is raised to around 80mg (a large dose). So if below that it ussually wont create the blockade so many people talk about.
I wrote a long post about it and how it works if you can look it up. It is called 'methadone myths.'
