Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Hope you can stop it.
sorry for the caps..copy n post and rep[ort
Sorry you got one too, Amerika, but glad we're the only ones so far! Sisyphis, you're lucky!
Once it's recognized, it goes no further, as we're not good marks if we know what they're up to. Whether it was attempting to sell drugs or becoming "friends" and getting $ out of you, these people know how to find your weak spot. Sick, ya know?
My rule is not to accept friend requests until i have seen several posts by the person. And if I don't like what they have to say it's no.
Anyway, I didn't know how to report this so I left it in my mailbox without responding. Should I do something? Not sure how to report it.
Ama
I hope that people realizes that if someone they don't know sudden is giving their email address it should be a red flag not to unless you know them and something about them beyond how interesting YOUR profile is.
We all have to be careful. Thanks for the warning!

I used the infamous button for the 1st time today and reported it. One woman on the adoption site had a PhD and was extremely intelligent, but being from another country, she didn't notice the odd wording. They got their attorney involved and tried to get interpol, FBI, ANYONE to look into it. They were told what we were, that the Cameroon scams are not in their jurisdiction, that they were attempting to put together a joint task force but that African officials wouldn't comply.
It is really well set up and the people who work the hardest don't even bring in $15 a day b/c it's like a mob controlled deal. The bigwigs ( in whatever 3rd World country is leading at the moment in scams) get the $. They even attempted to get Americans to work for the scam so the emails would sound more realistic! But apparently the Americans laughed at the amount being offered. It's VERY detailed.
The important thing is to report these, b/c DS can at least ban the names so they can't get deeper into our business. And believe me, there are some that are so realistic that they might very well convince someone in need of a friend to let too much info out. These people are not above blackmail, either. So what 1littleb said about them knowing your profile is very true.
AmaSun- I just found that abuse button and cut/pasted the message. I explained that this was not anyone I knew or that was on our board and that I'd been through it before. I also explained what the scam WAS in case it hasn't happened here yet. It's up to you but this is one case where I'd suggest using the abuse button. I never knew where it was but I did a search and it came up. :)
I DID get one from a woman earlier that sounded almost sexual in nature but I deleted it- that might be the same one you got, 1littleb. THIS one, however was from "Susan" also called LuvSuzy. What they WANT is for you to email them at the email provided.
I don't know WHY it shocks me so much that they'd come here. They're always trolling about looking for people with problems or needs so they can prey on them. As I said, it is sick.
One trick in particular I would like to bring to everyones attention is if you find yourself taken to a strange site and when you try to leave the site it gives you a popup that states are you sure you want to leave this site? Or any similar type of message.
These are keylogger scams and when you click yes to navigate off from their page, what you may be doing in actuality is enabling a keylogger program to embed itself into your browser, and then from that point on every login and password you use is put directly in the hands of these wicked people.
Just be wary and stay vigilante, and if you happen to find yourself in the situation I described above then don't click anything. What you should do is hit cntrl-alt-delete and pull up your program manager and use that to shut down your browser as this is a safer way to get out of such a situation.
If anyone wants further info on protecting yourself from this type of attack or others, please feel free to message me and I will help I'n any way I can.......Kris.....
Thanks all for your input greatly appreciated...
Thank you....that is very helpful information.
Would the same work in one of those loops where you can't exit a site?
Hugs.....jc..
It's working so far to go 'oh...you dirty rotten ba#* ards ' and go to back up window......but I keep thinking I'm going to get stuck in one :-) :-)
