Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Why don't you do what the rest of us do when we don't agree with someones normal, noninstigatory opinion....suffer silently and keep your opinions to yourself.
It's one thing to come here and post that inflammatory post, but to get on a thread of someone who's obviously hurting and in a bad place and start mouthing off...that's a whole different ballgame.
How bout you just leave people alone, I'm sure if they want to talk to you, they'll let you know.
Stop trying to instigate it's not a good way to get attention or make friends to combat that loneliness you speak of.

I just wanted to say...Now, after reading Serenityha's "Prayer & Positive Thoughts" for today (it's now Monday)...I am going to try and remember to apply that to my life, everyday. She also shared a great website link for Mayo Clinic, that I think might help us....about the "glass half empty or half full" mindset.
By the way, I see this "Genuine Mystery" person is still checking back on this post to, seemingly, try and instigate drama. His profile says "lonely, frustrated..." Ummm, well (and it's actually sad) I can see why. GM, read your posts back again. It's clearly a post to try and stir up a hornet's nest in a group of caring and supportive people who already are hurting and irritable. Why??? You obviously don't WANT friends. Telling someone you should report them because their reply posted 5 times, then when your own post does the same thing, suddenly it's a "DS glitch"....is not exactly the way to make friends. But your original post was just flat out rude and unfair. I think everyone else here already said it well, and I agree.
JC, don't regret pushing the "send" button. You have plenty of folks in your corner.
And - more misreading - it wasn't reportable because it was posted 5 times, it's because it was a vicious insult. Would you want someone to say that about you? Would you want to be friends with people who do that or condone it?
For what it's worth, my main reason for using this site is medical, not to make friends. I want people here to refocus on health-related issues - which my thread was about, despite the popular opinion - and get out of the habit of hostility (so ironically I agree with a critic of mine). From now on, Daily Strength can handle members who cross the line.
just my thought on the matter..

I'm sorry you're not here to make friends. We all need friends who totally get what we' re saying.
If I want medical advice, I'll go to a medical website. The opinions here are just that- opinions. It's probably not the best place to gather healthcare information.
jc, sorry I hijacked your thread. It's just so annoying.

The best way to combat the things that irriate you is to ignore them, ignore the user and/or hang out in rooms where you feel more safe and comfortable.
As for the pain issue...yes, I hear you. I don't know what or how or when I am going to feel like I am "gonna get through this" either. I just have to keep saying that "tomorrow is another day". I am certainly not trying to blow off how you feel--just letting you know I feel the same.
I hate not working, not having a life. I hate not being able to dress up and dance--hell, not even WANTING those things any more. I hate living drugged up, then taking more medications to combat the side effects of what I do take. I hate being constipated all the time--going to the potty has become an event for me! I can't hold my pee, I can't release my pee. I have to take two different kind of medications to make sure I don't get a bowel problem. It just goes on and on.
I still have hope for tomorrow. I have friends who understand what this life is like. I have a home and a warm, clean bed. I have my kids and my animals. I don't have a deathly disease. To me, these are all the things that continue to get me through each hour, each day.
I hope my friend that you will find some hope and some peace/joy. I know you have friends because I am one of them.
Much support and many HGUS to you my dear JC.
Where else would that ..not only be acceptable to say, but have some of us laughing in empathy?
I appreciate everyone's support..
I promise..I'm fine..just gave into some stressed-out self -pity
( and..no..I don't think it's always self-pity to say you feel badly..
Just happens..in this case..it was..:-) :-) :-)
GM,
Nobody here..to my knowledge.." conspires" against other members.
I think you have an..unfortunate...way of expressing yourself
That tends to rub people the wrong way.
There is a question section on this site. There is an advice section on this site.
This is the chronic pain " support" group.
Many of us found out way here in desperation after YEARS in the medical system. YEARS of researching our own conditions.
Most of us are still involved in those efforts in addition to the support we seek here.
Did you really think we've all just been sitting around here waiting for you to show up and ead us to the notion of seeking a DX?
SERIOUSLY?
I'd like to believe you just don't communication good intentions well.
You make that difficult.
Hugs.....jc
