Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Something I always find helpful is to have a pad of paper and a pen so I can write down questions I think of so I remember when the doctor comes in. Also you can write down what the doctors and nurses tell you. And if you aren't sure about what they are saying you can ask them to write it down for you. This has saved me many times.
Again good luck and remember to be nice to the nurses.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope they figure out what is wrong so that you can start feeling better very soon!!
Wishing you well and healing hugs,
Joanne
It is in fact how they determine that it is infected.
but here's the thing: in the end, i am so, so glad i stayed. as much as i wanted to go home, i really did need to be there- they dont keep you if you wouldnt really benefit from being there- and those days in the hospital were not ideal, but they really were necessary and i got so much better than i would have otherwise. i know that i was really upset, but the memory of your hospital stay really does fade away once youre out. as miserable as you are, you wont have a strong memory of it. youll just be glad you got the care you needed.
in the meantime, be proactive and do whatever you can to make yourself as comfortable as possible. let them know if youre anxious; they may give you a sedative. that helped me enormously. another tip- for tonight, ask if they have an sleep mask and earplugs they can give you so you sleep better. write to us lots- it will give you an outlet so you can vent and also we can support you and write to you a lot and help get you through this.
remember that even though this is hard, you are in the right place, and after suffering for so long, you are going to finally get the answers and treatment you need and deserve. just hang in there honey; youll get through this and we are all here for you. you are not alone and you can do this. sending big, gentle hugs and all my love and support to you! :)
Hugs & God Bless
Lisa
