I also have a selection of hymns on my Ipod. I listen to them when I'm praying/meditating.

I also found a DVD with the ocean on it. I put that in when I read. If I close my eyes I'm back at the Jersey Shore. But when I close my eyes it's difficult to read ;-)
Right now I'm listening to Mitch Miller's Christmas CD. I'll put it in my car so I can sing along.

Music is pure healing!
I find that oldies help a lot. (50's, 60's). The former oldies station in this area called itself the feel good station. It's well deserved. They do tend to be happy upbeat songs. Many are hard to listen to and not smile on the inside.
Oddly enough, one of my daughter's favorites are also helpful. She likes Taylor Swift. It's has a beat without being thumpy, and is smooth without being dentist music. When I'm driving and can't tolerate the radio she'll switch it to her CD and I can feel myself relax.
I love Bruce Springsteen and Ramones too! :)
