A number of you responded to a question about D-Ribose a few days back. I am wondering how it helped you?
Did you have more energy?
Were you less vulnerable to crashes or viral bugs, etc...
Were you able to sleep better?
Please explain why you would not be without D-Ribose in your supplement tool kit.

Oh, and did you follow Dr. Teitelebaum's recipe for how to take it?

Mine came with Citric Acid in it. I'm really allergic to Citric Acid so I didn't get to try it. Would be interested in reading other people's reports.

I started taking Monolauren yesterday because I read here on the forum that it's very good for CFS. It's a coconut product.

I've been using Monolaurin also. It's a nice anti-viral, but I usually use it when I get sick with a flare up. That and some mushroom compounds. Probably should use them all the time, but I like to give my body a break from all the supplements...

On my doctor's advice, I took D-Ribose for about 6 months. Didn't do a thing for me.

The only supplements I can say without a doubt help me are high dose B complex (sublingual), Zyflammend (herbal anti-inflammatory), and "Virattack", which I take when I have a cold.
I also use about 2 tbls of coconut oil a day in my tea (I drink a lot of tea). It helps my energy and my skin and hair.

I agree about the coconut oil...really good for you. I also drink a strongish cocoa every day (no sugar) and it's done wonders for my brain, energy, hair and nails...not everyone with ME can tolerate cocoa though. It's full of antioxidants and natural magnesium.

MMM, me too, but I eat it as 1 oz of 85% dark chocolate daily (I like Green & Black's). I agree, it's really good for us if we can tolerate it and
it's very helpful emotionally.

Yes, love dark chocolate! It's a great anti-stressor too. And the magnesium is good for sleep.

I have taken D-Ribose in the past... I feel like it might have helped my energy a bit over time... however, generally, I feel that it didn't make me feel good in other ways (increasing hypoglycemia-like symptoms). This supplement is recommended a lot for people with fatigue, but everyone responds differently. It might be worth a try, just keep track of how it makes you feel.

I just re-read your post and saw your question about sleep. I would definitely take D-Ribose earlier in the day. I feel it is stimulating. The supplements I take for sleep are Magnesium and Inositol (a type of B vitamin). I find them both very helpful.
