Whoa! That touched me in so many ways, particularly regarding my journey with cfs. I'm learning to let go of the pre-cfs me. I will always look back fondly and smile at the memory ..But that was a phase of my life that has passed.. That is my history.
Yes, there are days when i am petrified, because i have no idea what the new phase holds for me. Yes, i hate not being in control .. Not knowing.
But maybe i don't need to know where i am going .. Maybe i just need to be willing to keep taking one small, unsteady step at a time ...

so many unknowns when we have to rely on our health. but you said it brilliantly "maybe we don't need to know where we are going" maybe there is a plan already laid out for us and it's not for us to know it until its time???
