Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Support Group
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) describes a sense of exhaustion and post-exertion malaise, even when you have gotten enough rest and sleep. The disease is characterized by six months of incapacitating fatigue experienced as profound exhaustion and extremely poor stamina, and problems with concentration and short-term memory. The cause is unknown, but it is a...
Your husband is so fortunate to have a loving wife to help him with his diabetes. I think your approach with your daughter is wise. Most doctors are encouraged by the drug companies to over prescribe. ADHD has been diagnosed for a huge portion of the general population, that makes me suspicious of the doctors.
I like your wisdom about perspective. There are always going to be days that even the best of heroes feel all is lost and why try. Most days though we eventually drag our sorry asses out of bed and tell our foes, "Pick up your weapons. I am here to fight again. There is still more life to live and love to give."
Good luck with your battles. All of us are thinking of you and each other as we fight our enemies. We win when we do what we can. Even if it is just to post on here to complain about how the battle goes. Love and hugs, Tim
i feel sadness and anger at times over the stuff i cannot do, a list that's a whole lot longer than the list of can do's. and i too struggle with feeling a failure i guess cause on some level whether it's conscious or not, i compare my ability to other healthy people and i'm so lacking. I know i can't 'make'you feel better about yourself cut i can tell you that what i hear is a woman who has an extremely full plate and doing an incredable job of taking care of her husband and children and hopefully herself.
i too live one day at a time and struggle to just stay with that: i can do this just for today. sometimes - often, it helps me to make a list of all the stuff i have done vs all the stuff i haven't done. thanks for sharing your heart.
Sending you peaceful energy, and hoping May is the month it all starts to roll along better for you.
It reminded me of a story my husband told me about his four year old sister when he was a young boy.The whole family were continually worried as she just wouldn't talk. The doctors had no explanation and she had no signs of any abnormality etc.Anyway one day, the family were all dining together, when suddenly the four year old, very clearly and precisely, said " Could you pass the butter please".My mother inlaw, now deceased used to chuckle loudly whenever she recalled the event.
Anyway, you do have a lot on your plate, and you are doing an amazing job . Don't forget to tell yourself each day how fantastic you are.I am in great admiration of you and don't forget we are all here for you.Hugs to you.
It's good you're glad that April is over, that means you have hope that May will be better. Tomorrow is a new day to try, a new day of possibilities, a new day to make a difference. You are making a difference in the lives of your family, and they are all better for it, even when you can't see it.
A note on the carb counting.......I really like recipes from Cooking Light magazine, they are healthier and provide all the nutrition information on each recipe. You can also access all their recipes online. Maybe that'll help a little.
Hope your tomorrow is a better day. Hugs,
Genie
Thanks again everyone!
May isn't starting out all that great for me. I woke up Saturday with some sinus stuff and around 2 this morning, I started vomiting. That lasted about 4 hours. Ugh, I feel like crap today but my stomach is alright. Trying to keep a light diet going. I have a horrible headache though.
