I know what you mean about the weakness. I used to love surfing and dancing. I went from that to having trouble carrying an empty pot or pan.
A series of things have helped me improve: Vitamin D, Magnesium, B12, yoga, A LOT of stress relief exercises with a therapist, etc.
I actually just started a Facebook page and youtube channel on how to cope with CFS. If you have time, please join and take a look! On the youtube channel, I'm going to be doing a series of videos specifically on "how to cope" and the facebook page is a support group.

When I first caught this 20 years ago I felt like you describe. I didn't realize I was still doing too much and ended up bedridden. After about 3 years feeling really bad I gradually came out of the woods, not cured but able to do more with no more pain. I do think this happens to many especially if you learn to pace.
During periods of weakness I cannot cook, to tired. So hopefully have food I can eat without cooking and watch TV or computer.
When I first got sick years ago, a CFS person told me to get the "CFS cocktail" which is doxepin and klonopin. Doxepin gives restful sleep, klonopin gets rid of the neurological symptoms. Worked for me.
