MelonNC, in my opinion, I do believe they will make it to heaven. This response deserves for me to delve in this a little bit. If these Christians are "newborn" or just recently received Christ as Savior, maybe they don't know it's a sin, so God understands and yes, they'll be going to heaven.

However, once again, if they're mature Christians who know the truth and know their Bible, they wouldn't be co-habiting. However, in both circumstances, I believe they'd go to heaven.

MelonNC thank you for the "backslide" information. When using the Strong's concordance it only shows the word one time as I pointed out and that was "backslidden". Nit picking on my part. Sorry. Forgive me please. Praise God........always!

MelofNC I'm aging before my time. Eyesight is going and my hands shake a lot. Sorry for the "n" on your name. :-( I agree with you about sticking to the KJV. The KJV is always my first and last resource. I've several translations from which I study. Some are a bit scary. LOL

i think that we should always repent of our sins. it would be ungrateful and harsh to just thing "oh, its ok cos jesus died for me". we still need to show that were sorry and wont do it again. if we kep sinning then god will punish us. if we sin then we dnt deserve to have blessing and the holy spirit in our life. i believe jesus died to give us all a clean slate, but we can still mess it up if we dnt do gd and repent.

newhope01, as I said, Christ's blood covered our sins once and for all. He knows we sin and don't get me wrong, we are not to deliberately sin. However, God also knows we are just humans and are incapable of the perfect requirement to get into heaven. That's the very reason for him sending Christ down to atone for our sins. Yes, we are to repent, everyday in fact, because it's us that sins everyday.

I disagree with your last sentence. We can mess up any blessings we would get from Him. However, if you're refering to salvation, no, we can not mess that up. Like I said before and Paul mentiones that we are NOT to sin because we are saved. I believe God deals with us Christians here on earth. As you said, he will punish us and we don't deserve any blessing. However, we will always have the Holy Spirit.

i get what ur all saying, but it still sounds like ur all thinking its ok to sin. yeah jesus died for us but that doesnt mean we should not try to be perfect like him. we should follow his example and in the scribtures it shows us alot of the gd things he did. but we should also do it cos we want to not just as a way to get into heaven. as soon as u start to sin, the devil has a grip on ur soul. the more u continue to sin. even little ones lika a white lie. you move futher away from god. the holy spirit cant get to u, the devil tells u that its ok to sin a little. and then he will make u mesery and think that god doesnt love u. satans plan is to stop god's children from getting home. he plays on our feelings and fears.

newhope, I understand how it could sound that it's O.K. to sin, but it's not. Sinning is something a true follower of Christ doesn't want to do. It's something that makes us imperfect and God understands that we don't sin like we would love it. That's why it's important to repent on a daily baises with an open heart. Remember, God is plentiful in mercy and justice. He loves us like His children.

What do You mean by "are we perfect"? Do you mean physically perfect or spiritually perfect?

WITHOUT FAULT IN THE EYES OF GOD, AND NO ONE ELSES EYES REALLY MATTER.

We are imperfect beings and We do have faults, thats why Christ came to forgive us of our faults, if We beleive in Him.

When God said "and everything was good in Genesis, then Yes Adam and Eve were perfect and without faults. Since they both disobeyed Gods command and ate the fruit, then at that moment We all were cursed with faults and are not perfect.

Interesting question, Mel. I think we're always saved unless we actually push God away intentionally. The singer Amy Grant once said that God is only ever an armspan away from us, because we're the only ones who will push him away. Sure, we may waver in our relationship by hitting stale times (just like in the rest of life!!) but unless we outrightly reject Jesus, I think our salvation is intact. Having said that, I believe we need to work daily on our relationship with him, just as we would with our spouse, children, friends, etc. Otherwise we won't grow in Christ and our potential to extend His kingdom is halted.
