Child Abuse Survivors Community Group
This group's primary focus is physical and/or emotional child abuse: our memories, how it's affected us as adults, how we've survived, etc.
It's hard for me talk about things that have happened in my life as child for many reasons and I have had the pleasure of being haunted every day by new revelations and past memories my whole life now. I think about things a lot and even more so when I am stressing about my life today. I always think that I have overcome it all and I can move on but it has not happened yet. Sometimes I feel like I will always be that little girl wondering, "Why?" I feel more tired of the memories creeping in all of the time than anything. I'm so tired of learning new things about myself and I am so tired of feeling trapped by all of it. I have decided to join a support group to help alleviate some of the pain I experience still today on this never ending battle of self-doubt and constant fear. I know that what happened to me as a little girl could of been worse. I have so much guilt and frustration with myself not being able to move past it. If anyone is experienced in dealing with pain and anger I would love to hear how you cope. I have also come to realize tonight, that I need to forgive, a lot of people and I am not sure where to start. I am not quite comfortable opening up about everything and I find that odd considering I feel like I am a pretty open person. I dont know why I still feel the need to hide and push everything down. I am rambling but it has been a rough few weeks. I just finally today have felt "better" and more relaxed. I'm just not sure how long the feeling will last.

I was sexually assaulted as a kid. I find it hard to accept that another person's actions caused me so much harm. He made bad choices and now I am paying the price. Stupid PTSD!
A child can NOT ask for it, or fight off, or any thing else you may have been telling yourself...
they probably blamed you for why you got abused... it's their way of not dealing with, and justifying what they were doing..
you are not in denial, that's on them too!
Now the daily torments.
Your brain will only release the info that it knows won't hurt you... it wants to heal too.
I totally forgot about my abuse, till one day almost everything came flooding back.
Except one very important detail... who it was.. I have no idea who abused me as a young child, I know who did when I was a teenager, just not the younger one...
I've gotten to the point where I almost don't care, I don't need that info to heal.
Forgiving myself has been the hardest of all... because I see my faults, and everything that rolls with it...
Hang in there, be kind to yourself, and always remember...
You are never really alone in any of this.. we do understand..
Thanks. You are never alone in any of this either. One of my favorite quotes is from the movie "Almost Famous" and Dennis Hope (Jimmy Fallon), "I didn't invent the rainy day, man. I just own the best umbrella." I try to live by this when I am not so blue. Goodnight
Hugs and best to you
