My sister is worried sick abt a situation with her 2 cats which are sisters & have been together since birth.
She slides open the patio doors in the a.m. to let them sit at the screen & get fresh air. She was not directly there at the time but all she knows is that one(the more dominant one Tiara) all of a sudden when almost bullistic against the other(the runt Opal). She said Tiara just was hissing & just going ballistic. I think my sister intervened & thought OK wonder what happened. At some point she found Tiara in the bathtub & then a bit later again I think in the bathtub but she also found urine.
She got Tiara into the bedroom in the basement where she just went into their carrier which always has a blanket in it. I think Tiara was just doing alot of growling, grumbling, just generally upset. My sister went in throughout the day to sit & talk with her but she said every time Tiara saw Opal she was really upset. Tiara did eat throughout the day & physically at one point laid down to have her tummy rubbed/patted so she seems fine.
They had a vet do a thorough examination & the vet said nothing feels inflamed or wrong etc. The vet said the next step would be a blood workup to see if anything appears to be going on inside. For all intents the vet said it appears that Tiara has just been traumitized.
So even today my sister said Tiara just seems to almost hate little Opal. Poor Opal is thoroughly confused cause cuddling with & bathing big sister was her life.
I wondered if maybe it had been a scenario where Tiara was so focused on something in the yard & Opal maybe went up to her & just startled the life out of her but this seems a bit extreme now.
I recommended that it would not be a good idea to force them together say one hold Tiara & the other bring Opal up to her so Opal can touch noses, lick etc etc.
Does anyone think that maybe they might have to just work this out on their own or has anyone come across siblings that all of a suddeen just can't get along anymore.
ANYONES THOUGHTS AND/OR ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

She has been to the vet and there isn't anything wrong with her physically so I pretty much just figured she has her days where she just isn't feeling up to par and it is her way of expressing herself. Sometimes it can last for a week or more and then the next thing i know she is cuddling with her baby like nothing ever happened. I have learned to just leave them both alone and if my female cat gets a bit too rough I gently pick her up and pet her for awhile as that seems to calm her down.
Anyway try and be patient and see if things don't get a bit better in time:)
