so my brother has finally seen the light when it comes to our mother. he was very busy working in his landscaping business and didn't have tme to bother with them so it was my sister and I. when pat came in with my parents he was so irritated it was actually funny. he said he must of heard over a 100 times how they hated the 4:00 vigil mass before going to his house for Christmas eve, he totally ignored them her on Christmas. when he was bringing them home, my sister went out and asked him if he was okay and he said he cant stand it, she is driving him nuts. susan said welcome to ann and my world, we have dealt with it a lot longer. so I tink he will come around with the idea they need to reverse the trust on the house and move.
my mother was doing the pity act, I was helping her with the gifts, reading what it was, many gift cards and who they were from and she was crying saying she couldn't see and would nevr remember who gave what. it was quite a scene. I remained patient throughout hard as it was, especiall when seeing her cards she gave out that were written in perfect script, perfectly straight line, you are not blind to do that.
the worst came after and my sister stayed after for a bit. she told me that at the table, she saw and heard mom lean into dad and say, meanly, colleen didn't get us anything, my daughter, and dad replying we will never forget that! when I heard this I had gone through again when I was with mom getting her things and the gifts, crying agai about how nshe doesn't know who gave what. so susan said, how does she even know that colleen didn't give anything?? colleen worked her butt off at the house, in the kitchen, cleaning up, I would of been lost without her. she does have a card here for them, I didn't understand why she didn't want to give it, something about adding smething. she is in school full time, doesn't ave much money but is so good to me and them when she sees them, why cant that be enough? I am still pissed, I can just see her mean twisted face saing it. I am going to bring it up, say I heard her say it and why would she do that?
over all everything else went god, mo was being pathetic with others too. hope everyone survived the day!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Hope the dog days of summer aren't getting you down!

I actually had a really nice Christmas eve at Mom's....one nephew came and the other nephew's step daughter came but the mom and my nephew stayed home in bed as he had worked overnight the night before and I am not sure he was not working over night that night too....he is cook at Steak n Shake....overnight shift....and his wife is unemployed....
without his input there it was more pleasant because he is an ass hole time and time again...anyway my cake got eaten at least 1/2 of it disappeared...and I happily got things I liked very much for Christmas presents....
i came out and told my mother what i heard she denied it a few times, i stuck to it and then she said well if i said it i didn't mean it that way and rushed off the phone. it felt so good to be out front and say something
I am so sorry your mother was acting rude. All I can think to say is that, perhaps, the best present ever is that your brother now sees the light!
Definitely stand up to your mother. Ask her why she thinks she will have trouble remembering who gave her what when she was totally able to remember that a grand daughter did not give her anything!
Gentle hugs
My feeling is that when my mother is taking one of her cheap sniper shots at one of my kids or grandkids, she's actually trying to insult me.
just kidding!
By all means, way to go for returning fire to your mother! She needs to know that her whispering to her husband was heard by the entire table, that it offended people, and that it diminished her (your mom) in the eyes of many people!
