Caring for aging parents can be a difficul time as we become the caretakers for our parents. We have three cats in my home, 2 small females, (my mothers) and my huge male. My mother insists on feeding the three of them canned food in the morning. Every morning, three bowls on the counter, 3 cats on the counter with my mother standing over them. This morning, she feeds them and after a couple of minutes starts grumbling. I got up from the table and asked her what's wrong? She states: "YOUR cat is always pushing my cat out of her bowl, he's so piggy and Michelle never gets to finish her meal!!!!!!!!!!" Oh, okay, Sid get down I said; he jumped off the counter. I went back to the table to have my coffee and watch the news. All of a sudden, she's grumbling again. I got up and asked what was wrong? She now states: "YOU just shooed him off the counter and I depend on him to finish Michelle's meal; NOW look at the wasted cat food because you made him get down!!!!!!"
When she realized the absurdity of what she just complained about she started laughing and said: "It's going to be your fault either way!"
My sister sent me a text this morning and asked what happened because Ma was upset at how I always yell at my cat to get off the counter and she needed him up there to finish Michelle's food. You know Ma hates to waste food. She was laughing but texted me that I was a "cat meany". I texted her back to give her the first half of the story that my mother apparently forgot. And texted her that one day she was going to end up with our mother in her home so she could have all this fun with our mother too! NO response yet! I wonder why?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I'm not a cat meany either! I don't yell at my cat! He's a cat! So don't tell people that I yell at him all the time when I don't. That's lying!

She's arguing with me again last night that "yes" I have yelled at my cat before and it wasn't too long ago she states: I said, when, when have I ever yelled at him? She says, recently you chased him throughout the house yelling at him. For cripes sake, that was over 2 years ago and the little grubber rummaged through my purse and had a customer's check in his mouth. The check was for $17k so yeah I chased the little demon down. Can you imagine calling the customer and asking them to re-write the check, my cat ate the one you gave me.. ppppfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff
I wouldn't care about these little episodes if she got her facts right but she calls everyone she knows to tell them of my latest discretion(s)! And boy oh boy does she re-write the history!
As for stuff that creeps into this forum, pretty much anything that can happen in a home somehow gets rolled into discussions here. I will admit that this cat thing was a bit out of left field, but once you take it all in it makes perfect sense that it was an issue that was discussed here!
