I've been going onto the "dementia" website sometimes, too. Mainly reading for tips, suggestions, ect... Ahhh just the thought of spring is welcome here. I'm on the northeast coast too and we're supposed to have snow for St. Patrick's Day.... yuk.... One of our first signs of spring are the tulip bulbs sprouting. Then the birds start building their nests in the birdhouses. What they put in there is sometimes funny.

Hi everyone ! Here in the South our Bradford Pear trees are full of beautiful white blossoms ( similar to a Cherry Blossom tree).

They look so beautiful lining the streets where I live :-)

Living in N.W. part of Illinois, spotting the robins seems to be the first sign spring is near. I think they were in for a surprise this year however, because there was a foot of snow on the ground when I spotted the first pair about 3 weeks ago, and the snow is still here. Then it's the sight of the daffodils and crocus in my back yard and the neighbors. Finally, it's getting into the garden. Normally for me, I really push the spring garden (cold weather veggies) and plant the last week of March, about a month earlier than most do around here. Unfortunately, this year it's not going to happen. Snow on the ground and 38" of ground frost to get rid of yet. Maybe mid April if I'm lucky. And of course, there are the seed catalogs that come in the mail mid January, giving us a hint of the upcoming spring.

To me, if we are quiet, it means there is a lull between the crisis, the ups, the downs, the frustrations, the sadness, the stress! For me, yes, things have been pretty calm lately......how nice it is too!!!

We are minutes from the Canadian border. Our first sign of spring has shown up, the robin's. Saw the first one yesterday above the pond. I'm sure they aren't happy that the snow is still covering the ground. I will shovel some areas so the sun can warm it for them to dig worms.

I live in the south of England. Our first signs of spring comes with the trees in blossom, especially the magnolia tree which is quite beautiful but fragile. We also see the delicate crocus flowers. Purple, yellow and white.
i don't get here as often as i'd like. I use my phone as the laptop is out and i find it frustrating to navigate around.

i live in northern ontario canada and for me the first sign of spring is looking outside and actually see that tiny bit of dirt/grass peeking out from all that white. wont be any time soon. getting a snow storm today . up to 1 cm of snow they are calling for.

its springtime in indiana when i have to carry a bandana in the truck for when the army pile cap gets too hot. bout time, ive been burning a fire for 5 months.

It seems as if Signs of Spring are similar most everywhere!

Close to the Ohio river . I can't remember which came first, the daffodils or the peepers. For anyone who doesn't know (like my nephews who live next door) peepers are the little frogs that start "singing" about dusk. It gives me a smile every time I hear them.

I remember one night when my daughter was young, the Peepers were exceptionally loud down by the pond. I put her to bed, then about a half hour later I hear: "Mommy!" I went running her room to see what's up & she asked me: "Mommy, can you turn the frogs down, they're really loud..."
I wanted to burst out laughing, but I didn't. This was serious to her. I had to explain "the frogs are part of nature & nature makes the frogs talk that way. I'm not able to turn them down". She said with disappointment- "ok, Mommy". I kissed her goodnight again, tucked her back in, then went back to the living room & burst out laughing. My husband & I were simply tickled!

Nice to hear you guys talking about spring. We are heading into autumn here in South Africa. Still some hot days of over 30 degrees celcius, thats when I am getting all jackets, bedding etc freshened for winter. We don't get snow here except about once every 10 years or so and then only a little mushy stuff. A few years ago there was enough for my kids to see and feel snow for the first time. They made a teeny snowman and threw a couple of snowballs and then leapt back into the car shivering. Winter here gets this 'lazy wind' - you know the one that doesn't go around you - just straight through:-) I am enjoying every moment of sunshine for now.

Hi lowernotes! I know exactly what you mean about wind going straight through you. We had that wind here in the Catskill Mountains Wednesday 3/26. Just chilled you to the bones... Seems like winter just isn't giving up it's hold just yet...
