I hate Christmas

I have never liked Xmas. The good religious aspects are fine. We are nt church people, but still believe. I hate all the stress of buying gifts I can't afford for people that won't remember the next day what they got from who.
I got up this morning to a screaming 3 yr old. A 52 year old in so much pain all he can do is snap peoples heads off and bitch about everyone not doing what they need to do. But he was to "sick" to take B to AA today. All they had to do was ask me to take him. But Big B is such a selfish son a bitch sometimes.
He complaining about how our tree tilts and looks like crap.This morning the dog knocked a ball of the tree. Big B went ballistic!
I'm so sick of him and his self centered spoiled angry crude rude insulting stupidity.
If it weren't for Baby B I would drag that damn tree out to the street with a free sign on it. It may not be much but it was the best I could do while he sat in the chair :supervising"
God some days I feel like I could just sweep through this whole house and rip it to the ground.
Sorry for the rant Just don't know how much I can take before I just give the hell up.

Hello Cat, Feel free to vent here any time you are in need ! It sounds like you've really got a plateful. As a fellow caregiver I know how some days can just go from bad to worse and giving up feels like your only option. We've all been there my friend :-)

I hope you feel better by the time you read this.

Cat, you are in understanding company. But don't let every ones angry issues bring you down. You can control so few things as a caregiver. Our traditions, handed down for years and centuries can tire us out. I know all about dealing with complaints from the one we care for while we are doing EVERYTHING and them nothing. And it's even worse during holidays when we have added many many more chores to our already long list. Hang in there. You are and can do this. But it sounds like B needs a bit of a swift kick. I hope you can find time to just sit in front of your tree in a quiet moment sipping cocoa. Hugs to you, Sandy

It's not that I don't like Christmas, but it seems so many things are happening around Christmas (surgeries, doctor appts, dialysis, you know the usual!!) that I get very worn out. This year and going back a few years now, I keep it very simple. My Christmas tree is a fake little decorative one that stands about 18 inches tall, my gifts to my kids and grandkids are all gift cards (this way I can avoid the stress of shopping), and we eat our Christmas dinner out - picking a nice restaurant. I even turned down an invitation to go to my cousin's house for Christmas - did not want to make the 40 mile drive. Simple, easy, and then I can manage it. Yes, I do miss really shopping for meaningful gifts....but I can't do it all. Even writing Christmas cards, the list has been cut way down. Hope things get better for you, Christmas is such a stressful time.

id never drove on xmas day in my life till a few years back. i went from indy to chicaggy to help my son with a vehicle problem. it was insanity. a deadly ice storm with cars bumper to bumper from chicago clear to my own driveway 120 miles south. everybody risking the lives of their family to go see family. good god, send em a vulgar e - card. its safer.

Praying for you to have strength..This is a hard time of year #1 but being a caregiver on top of everything else makes it even harder..HUGS go out to you...God Bless...

Your not alone, I've been looking at some of the people, r when I get the chance to go out, and so many are stressed, rude, and spinning out of control. Shame is they "look" (I don't know of course) healthy and able-bodied. Hope you can enjoy your tree even if it's a little crooked and not let Big B's complaints take over, any aspect of joy that could be......
