Good luck to you!
Best wishes, MelodyJane
I told him all I could do was help him with the tools to feel better. I couldn't make him be smarter in. how he ate with his diabetes or how y or how his foot healed. I was tired of feeling sad and tired.
He.seemed to take it well .
Anyway, thanks again!
They are all Italian. In most traditional Italian homes, a massive pot of pasta sauce is cooked all day long starting right after church every Sunday. It is the sauce that will be used all week for different meals.
Well, most cooks "test" the sauce with a piece of Italian bread by dipping it in and taking a bite to see how the sauce tastes. Those of us concerned about our health have given up the bread and just use a clean spoon to take a sip or put a bit in a bowl to taste it.
My aunts who lost their lives or are fighting diabetes end up eating up to 3/4 of a loaf of bread with these tastings. That much bread is not good for diabetics.
Then they sit down to a pasta meal with maybe two meatballs and a plate filled with pasta.
Nothing anyone says to them makes a difference at all! They each say, "well aunties so and so died and I am just following her footsteps, it is just the way things go in this family."
I would imagine that just leaving him to his own devices would be too much for you. But perhaps that is what he needs from you now.
Throwing you out is a bit extreme. Just cause he is sick does not mean he gets to be mean unless he is on some medications that cause these sorts of things.
It really sounds like he needs some tough love. Of course, if that does not work, you may just have to prepare for him to slowly deteriorate. OR maybe try some therapy.
Good luck
Sunny
