Daughter in Tears! Help!

Tomorrow the 1 june is my daughters 10th year anniversary of her heart transplant.  Last night she was in tears, she is feeling really upset about it.  She was saying things like I cant be the firsit to die, the thing is hearts are only meant to last 10 years and then after that you are on borrowed time so to speak.  A lot of people dont understand, that having a transplant isnt the end of the problem but the begining, she has been on medication since she was first diagnosed with dilated cardiac myopathy at 3 months old.  She is now 22 years nearly 23 in fact, we usually take her away for her anniversary it takes her mind of it, but, this time we just cant afford it.  I am finding things harder to cope with as I get older.

Can't they put a pacemaker in? Or put her on medication for
people with heart failure that might prolong her life?
She should see a counselor to deal with her feelings if at
all possible. Maybe also write her feelings down in a journal.

I am so sorry your daughter is going through this. I know its also hard on you. Unfortunately, I have had the opportunity to know a 12 year old neighbor who had heart transplant at Loma Linda University. Please know that you are in my thoughts.

Hello. I can only imagine what your going through. I live it every day through my job. I know so many parents like yourself that are taking care of their children instead of putting them in a group homes. How are you doing? Taking care of your daughter and coping with everyday life. I had no idea this happens with transplants. I thought once you had one you were gtg. Can she not get another heart when this one wears out? Or a robotic heart? I'm sure they need volunteers to test those.
