I recently posted 'resigned from my dream job (see below).
I resigned from a counselling job (post 7 years study), took a non counselling job which meant that dealing with others emotional stress was lessened in my life (bonus) - It is also now my belief that a job in counselling is NOT long term sustainable.
However I am really unstimulated and bored out of my brain in a job that is tech support ugh! It's simply the wrong fit and a lousy team and environment etc.
I can't stand the job BUT I learned that I'm pregnant and the prospect of starting a new job again is even more difficult.
I'm aiming to stick around for as long as I can but the idea of that is HARD.
Anyone have any tips for hanging in there? I'm trying to shift my attitude and think of the money for life with baby when I won't be working so much ...

I knew I hated IT when I majored in it in college, but I went ahead. Now for the part of how I stayed. I found you had to do something challenging after work. I traveled, partied, learned French, all made possible by the money earned from that dull job. So that's my tip for you. Find a passion outside of work. Then the job becomes a means to an end.
I was planning to go into counselling soon, switching from teaching.
Anyway, counselling is work where self care is absolutely necessary.

Don't pay for his course yet, can just read the blog first..... (my friend went for his online course though)
