Career Changes Support Group
This community is dedicated to the difficult challenges of transitioning from one career or job to a new one. Especially as we grow older, it can be very difficult to acquire the skills and relationships and take the financial risk to make the switch.
I knew I hated IT when I majored in it in college, but I went ahead. Now for the part of how I stayed. I found you had to do something challenging after work. I traveled, partied, learned French, all made possible by the money earned from that dull job. So that's my tip for you. Find a passion outside of work. Then the job becomes a means to an end.
I was planning to go into counselling soon, switching from teaching.
Anyway, counselling is work where self care is absolutely necessary.
I am often interested to try new things and my friend introduced me to this website http://earn1k.com/
You might have heard of him before, I know he is not a scam.
Don't pay for his course yet, can just read the blog first..... (my friend went for his online course though)
Maybe it might inspire you to start something on the side?
Good luck. Stay positive.
Do you know what sort of work you'd like to do?
